As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Social Work and Mental Health field for over 15 years, I have experienced working with clients and families of all ages and backgrounds who have experienced a variety of challenges. I welcome adults, couples, and adolescents into my practice. Within our therapeutic relationship, I provide an empathic and non-judgmental milieu in which your exploration and insight into your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and their underlying meanings are fostered.
In the first session we will be dong an intake together. We will be gathering information about brought you to seek therapeutic services, what symptoms you have been experiencing, and collaborate in coming up with a treatment plan together to decrease your symptoms and get back to a normal level of daily life functioning. You will gain positive coping skills, learn how to ground yourself, and manage your symptoms. You will also have a safe space to verbalize your thoughts and feelings without judgement. You will have ongoing support and guidance as you travel on your journey and build resilience.
As a provider I meet my clients where they are. I develop a healthy supportive therapeutic relationship with my clients and work closely with them in reaching their goals. Their progress and feedback is important to me. I believe my role in the therapy room is to provide perspective and provoke reflection and insight into behaviors and thought patterns. I hold unconditional positive regard as the key to a great therapeutic relationship, and I enjoy watching my clients grow toward the people they want to be!
I specialize in ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD, and Depression and I bring to the table an eclectic psycho therapeutic approach utilizing evidenced based therapeutic interventions. I believe that you need to meet each individual that you are working with where they are, creating a safe and secure environment in order to promote strength and balance.

Change occurs by learning how to modify dysfunctional thought patterns. This is used most often with Depression and Anxiety. Clients learn to recognize negative patterns of thought, evaluate their validity, and replace them with healthier ways of thinking. Clients develop more positive coping skills and strategies.
Change occurs through accessing clients strengths and resources. Emphasizes finding solutions to a problem, NOT discovering the cause or origins of the problem. (This is more for short term therapy. Would be good with 6-8 week sessions paid for by employer).
Change happens through mindfulness, developing skills to manage distress tolerance and emotional regulation, and improve interpersonal problem solving skills. The goal is for clients to improve their emotional and cognitive regulation.
Change occurs through insight and understanding of early , unresolved issues. Goals of this therapy are to uncover and interpret unconscious impulses and defenses against them and examine unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise from past dysfunctional relationships. (This one is great for working with clients with dual diagnosis/ mental health combined with substance use used as a coping skill).
