I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who is passionate about being a therapist and actually feels called to it. I believe that we all deserve to live a meaningful and fulfilled life, where we feel ACCEPTED, HEARD, SEEN, CARED FOR, and VALUED. I have a genuine interest about people… about how we became the people that we are, who and what influenced are decisions, what we believe, and how they contribute to the ways we think, feel and behave. I am zealous about helping people know and appreciate who they really are, and not just what people and experiences have conditioned them to believe they should be. My main areas of focus are on Anxiety, Attachment Issues, Self-Worth and Trauma where I infuse a mixture of CBT, EMDR, Inner Child, Parts Works and Reality therapy in our sessions to achieve your goals in therapy. However, the greatest help I provide is giving you different perspectives and insight that may have not been considered before, which in turn may change the way you feel and think about the situation. It is my hope that after understanding how your past has shaped how you view your current circumstances, and presses on your future, that you can heal from it and move forward. My Christian faith is also a big part of who I am and how I view the world. For those interested in incorporating Christian counseling in sessions this can be an amazing way to grow your faith, and help to reestablish your belief in God and how He sees you. I understand that not everyone feels or believes the way I do, and that is perfectly fine. Being a Christian is not a requirement to meet with me, nor does it have to influence our sessions unless desired.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first meeting will be an intake appointment that will entail us discussing your reasons for seeking therapy and a little bit about your history. We can then collaborate on goals you want to achieve, and what you feel comfortable with.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is my goal to make you feel comfortable, seen, heard and vulnerable.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

The way in which we form attachments from childhood can determine how we feel about ourselves, how we connect and interact with others, what drives us, which can contribute to our mental well-being. We will work to identify what attachment style is helping to guide you, how it has impacted you and utilize inner child techniques that help to repair any areas of insecure attachment.

Christian Counseling

There are some people who would like aspects of their faith interwoven in therapy to help them understand or work through a difficult situation, or they may need support in strengthening their faith when it is being challenged or questioned. While there are others who are struggling with aspects of their faith that have wounded them, and may have even caused trauma. Let us work together to either fortify your faith and see your difficult situation through that lens, or work on deconstructing certain beliefs, and possibly gaining new perspectives to help guide you towards healing

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a practical way of be aware, understanding and sorting out thoughts, feelings and actions more clearly, and how they are connected to some of the challenges you face. Utilizing CBT can help in identifying the root of anxiety, depression, trauma and other mental health issues.

EMDR

EMDR is a special and unique way of reprocessing trauma and freeing oneself from the trigger, angst, anxiety and even physical presentations of trauma. It entails very specific protocols that is different from talk therapy, and typically yields successful results.

Reality Therapy

Reality therapy is a direct and practical way of remembering that you have choice, and has the right to exert it freely. It also reminds and reinforces that you can only control yourself, actions and responds, and that everything is out of your control. This is not a weakness or limitation, but can be empowering and free.
