As a single parent myself, I have worked with many parents as they struggle through the lack of support to kid's behavioral concerns, feeling hopeless in the parenting experience, and many more parenting challenges. With over 16 years in the mental health field I have developed specialties in crisis intervention, complex trauma, and parenting issues. Being a single parent myself has given me a unique perspective into the mental, emotional, financial, resource, and juggling needs of parenthood. I begin therapy with a Person-Centered approach which I define as getting to know the WHOLE you (struggles, strengths, and everything in between). I am genuinely curious to learn who you are, what brings you to therapy, and how I can best assist you in your time of need. Utilizing CBT methods, I help people understand how our thoughts, feelings, and actions interact with one another. When we focus our energy on one specific aspect (most often thoughts and/or actions) we can work on improving our feelings which leads to a greater sense of self-control.
