New to Grow
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with over 14 years of experience in the mental health field. My career began in mental health research before transitioning to clinical practice, where I've spent over a decade supporting U.S. military Veterans from diverse backgrounds as they navigate complex work, social, and health goals. This experience has given me deep insight into helping individuals successfully manage major life transitions, overcome barriers to achievement, and build meaningful, fulfilling lives aligned with their values and aspirations.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, I typically review what you can expect from me as a virtual provider, some general housekeeping items around scheduling, pay and communications and most importantly we review what brings you to the first session, how we may be able to work together toward your goals and if I'm a good fit to support you with your goals as they currently stand.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I use a tailored approach to support my clients best, but the consistent thread is collaboration when goal-setting, reviewing progress on goals and addressing new treatment goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Are you a high-achieving professional feeling stuck at a crossroads? Maybe you're questioning your next career move, navigating a major life transition, or struggling to balance success with personal fulfillment. You've accomplished a lot, but something feels off—and you're ready to figure out what comes next. I specialize in working with driven professionals, particularly men, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are facing critical career or life transitions. Whether you're contemplating a career change, dealing with workplace challenges, managing the pressure of high expectations, or redefining what success means to you, I understand the unique complexities you're navigating. My clients often juggle multiple identities and responsibilities while trying to maintain the excellence they've built their lives around. With 14 years of experience as a Licensed Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor working with U.S. military Veterans, I've supported countless individuals through significant transitions—from military to civilian life, career pivots, and personal reinvention. I bring that same expertise to helping high-achieving professionals navigate their own crossroads with clarity and confidence. My approach is practical, goal-focused, and tailored to your needs. I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you identify what's holding you back, clarify your values and goals, and create actionable steps forward. We'll build on your existing strengths—the same resilience and problem-solving abilities that got you where you are—to chart your next chapter. You don't have to figure this out alone. If you're ready to move past uncertainty and build a career and life that truly aligns with who you are and what you value, let's work together. Schedule your first session, and let's get started.
Motivational Interviewing
Many clients face ambivalence about major life transitions, whether returning to school, changing careers, or addressing barriers to employment. I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore your own motivations and values, resolve mixed feelings, and tap into your intrinsic drive to create the change you want. We'll work collaboratively to strengthen your commitment and develop a plan that aligns with what truly matters to you.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients stop struggling against difficult thoughts and feelings, and instead focus energy on building a life guided by your personal values. We'll work on developing psychological flexibility—learning to be present with discomfort while taking action toward what truly matters to you, whether that's career fulfillment, meaningful relationships, or personal growth. This approach helps you move forward even when challenges arise, creating a richer, more authentic life aligned with your values.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge thought patterns that may be holding them back from achieving their career and personal goals. Together, we'll examine how your experiences have shaped your thinking about work, purpose, and transition, then develop practical strategies to build confidence and move forward. This approach has helped many people successfully navigate employment challenges and find meaningful career paths.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I help clients build on their existing strengths and resources—the same resilience and problem-solving skills you've developed throughout your life—to achieve specific work goals, relationship goals with friends and romantic partners, family goals with nuclear or chosen family, or other wellness goals. Rather than dwelling on obstacles, we'll identify what's already working, envision your preferred future, and create concrete steps to get there efficiently. This practical, forward-focused approach respects your time and gets results.
