LCSW, 7 years of experience
New to Grow
Welcome, my name is Leanna Edwards and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California and Nevada. I have found that my therapy style is a good fit for individuals struggling with anxiety, grief, stress, chronic illness/cancer and life transitions. My approach is warm, grounded and person-centered. I use evidenced-based therapy models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength Based Therapy and Mindfulness/Grounding techniques to help individuals have a deeper understanding of themselves and reach their personal therapy goals. I believe therapy is a courageous and powerful step towards creating the life you want.
Our first session we will talk about the therapeutic process/what to expect. We will also talk about your concerns and discuss your goals for therapy. We will work together to define what is important to you and what you would like to accomplish in our time together. Over time we can reflect on goals and progress made.
I am a present, authentic and warm therapist. I strive to meet you where you are at emotionally and build trust between us. I prioritize providing coping skills for you to use to reduce distressing symptoms and improve your quality of life. I find it very rewarding being in a profession that values growth and well-being.
I specialize in anxiety, grief, stress, chronic illness/cancer and life transitions. Many of my clients are high achieving individuals who are suffering from fatigue, burnout and a racing mind.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a tool I use to help client's identify and overcome thoughts and beliefs that are negatively impacting their mental health and wellbeing. Our thoughts truly influence our feelings and behaviors.
I use this treatment method to grow confidence in clients and achieve their therapy goals by building upon strengths they already have.
I have found this method of therapy helpful in teaching clients ways to reduce stress and be more present in the current moment. I provide concrete tools to use outside of our sessions to reduce distressing symptoms.
