About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained my Masters degree in Social Work and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Southern CT State University. With almost 10 years experience providing psychotherapy and have had the pleasure of working together with all age groups from varying backgrounds including individuals, couples and families, helping them reach their goals. I am also a graduate of the accredited Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) from the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.). With this training, I have been afforded the knowledge to help children, adults and families who have been impacted by foster care and adoption. My goal is your goal. My mission is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space which allows the client to express oneself freely. I am a passionate, dedicated clinician who believes that with patience, empathy, and a healthy therapeutic relationship, one can learn the tools to implement change and have a more fulfilling and rewarding life. I utilizes strength-based approaches as well as person-centered strategies, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution focused brief therapy and Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I am committed to working with you side-by-side on your journey through life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I feel that building a rapport is important in the therapeutic relationship. The first session involves us getting to know each other. Completing an intake will help me to get to know you better. We will also look to establish what your goals are in therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Part of therapy isn't just providing the client with techniques, skills and potential solutions, but to also be able to not just hear but listen to my client's concerns, give them a space to feel safe and the ability to empathize with them. This is the type of care you will receive when we begin working together. I have had much success with this approach with client's oftentimes commenting how they feel heard and feel like I understand where they are coming from. Using solution focused brief therapy is a method I oftentimes use with client to find out from them what solution they are hoping to obtain in therapy and I in turn strive to help them reach their goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with any client who is ready to do the work necessary to promote the change they want in their life. Transparency is key to helping me help you reach your goals. I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults offering support in many areas such as depression, anxiety, ptsd, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. children navigating emotional or behavioral challenges, and adults dealing with trauma, stress, or emotional dysregulation. I support individuals and families facing life transitions, relationship challenges, or overwhelming stressors. I also work well with individuals seeking to have faith-based counseling based on biblical principals. Being trained in adoption competency has afforded me the opportunity to develop skills for working with adopted individuals and families by learning core issues like trauma, grief, identity formation, and attachment. Through this training, I am able to enhance assessment and therapeutic practices, support families with challenging behaviors, and integrate adoption-competent practices.
