About me

Greetings, It has always been my desire to serve and bring out the best in people. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts, my commitment to this work is both personal and professional. Growing up with two parents who struggled with addiction, I experienced anxiety and depression at an early age and made a conscious choice not to become a product of my environment. Instead, I chose a different path , one rooted in healing, understanding and helping others find their way through difficult chapters of their own lives. My lifelong interest in human behavior and emotional functioning led me into this field, where I strive to help clients gain clarity, develop meaningful coping skills, and move toward their desired goals. I work best with individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and actively participate in their healing process. You’ve already taken a courageous first step by reaching out; now let’s explore whether we are a good fit, as it would be an honor to collaborate with you. I value transparency, authenticity, and a strong therapeutic connection. You are the expert in your lived experience; my role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you as you move toward growth, balance, and emotional well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will begin with brief introductions and an overview of what brings you to therapy. Because therapy is not one-size-fits-all, we will explore the specific challenges you’re facing so we can begin shaping a plan tailored to your unique needs, goals, and strengths. This first step helps us decide how to work together most effectively and sets the foundation for your growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Providing therapy across the lifespan has shaped me into a well-rounded and adaptable therapist. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from ages 6 to 100, from children and adolescents, to adults, to hospice patients and their grieving families. These experiences have strengthened my ability to meet clients exactly where they are, with sensitivity, respect, and clinical insight. I have extensive experience conducting bio-psychosocial assessments, which allows me to identify presenting issues, needs, concerns, and strengths with clarity. This helps me create individualized treatment plans that address emotional and behavioral challenges from a holistic lens. My goal is always to support stress reduction, symptom relief, and emotional balance so you can live your best life yet. **Sliding scale fees are available upon inquiry.**

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults, and I strive to build a genuine connection with each client. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am committed to working with you to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental space. I’m here to listen, support, and help you tap into your own resilience so you can move toward the growth and change you desire.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

My primary therapeutic modality is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) because meaningful change begins with awareness. In order to work through anything, we must first learn to notice it: our thoughts, emotions, patterns, and physical responses. Throughout my life and clinical career, I’ve consistently engaged in self-reflection and self-assessment. This practice has helped me understand the “moving parts” of my inner and outer world, and it has shaped the way I support clients. MBSR offers that same opportunity: it creates space for clarity, emotional regulation, and conscious decision-making. Life will always present challenges, but having the right tools: grounding techniques, breath awareness, non-judgmental observation, and mindful coping strategies allow us not just to endure hardship, but to move through it with intention and resilience. My approach is to guide clients in cultivating those skills so they can navigate their lives with greater balance, insight, and confidence.

Christian Counseling

My Christian counseling approach is grounded in three decades of ministry involvement and spiritual leadership. I stepped into ministry in 1995 at age 17, serving as a Sunday school teacher and alto section leader. What began as a one-Sunday substitute teaching assignment unexpectedly became a four-year commitment. Although stepping into leadership at such a young age initially created resistance from some adults, consistency and dedication helped me earn their trust. Those formative years taught me how to lead with humility, courage, compassion, and spiritual maturity. Over time, my involvement and service expanded into prison music ministry, youth ministry, administrative service, biblical teaching, and community engagement. These roles deepened my understanding of how faith, resilience, and emotional wellness meaningfully intersect. After many years of faithful commitment, I completed my ordination in 2017, formally acknowledging the spiritual work I had already been carrying for decades. Today, I integrate Christian principles with evidence-based therapeutic practices, offering clients a balanced and compassionate approach that honors both their faith and their mental health needs. I hold a deep respect for each person’s spiritual journey and support clients in integrating faith with emotional wellness in a way that feels grounded, supportive, and transformative. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where individuals can explore healing, clarity, and spiritual alignment.

EMDR

I am an EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Trained Practitioner. My approach to EMDR Therapy is shaped by both formal EMDRIA-approved training and years of experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, stress, grief, and deeply rooted emotional patterns. EMDR allows clients to access and process memories that may be stored in the nervous system in ways that traditional talk therapy alone cannot reach. Throughout my clinical career, I have been drawn to approaches that honor the connection between the mind, body, and emotional experience. EMDR aligns with that philosophy by using bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess distressing events, reduce emotional intensity, and form healthier, more adaptive beliefs. In my practice, I create a calm, structured environment where clients feel supported, grounded, and empowered throughout each phase of EMDR. My approach is steady, compassionate, and client-centered — ensuring that every session proceeds at a pace that feels safe, regulated, and manageable. EMDR helps clients move from reactivity to clarity, from survival mode to regulated awareness. My goal is to help individuals experience relief, resolution, and renewed resilience so they can reclaim emotional balance, interrupt long-standing patterns, and step into a more empowered version of themselves.
