Life is full of challenges. Whether it's navigating major life transitions, coping with medical conditions, or working through grief and loss. These experiences can increase anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm. Therapy can be a powerful tool to build resilience, manage stress, and develop practical skills for both today's challenges and whatever lies ahead. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C) and Certified Health and Wellness Coach (CHWC), I bring over 30 years of experience to partner with you in your healing journey. In my practice, I used evidenced-based approaches to teach effective coping strategies, foster emotional resilience, and guide clients toward wellness and growth. Whether you are dealing with a recent medical diagnosis, navigating recovery, grieving a loss, struggling with anxiety and depression, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands. I am currently offering virtual therapy to individuals across Indiana. My goal is to help clients not only manage what they are going through now, but to equip them with the tools to face future challenges with confidence and strength.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Connecting with a new therapist and finding a good fit can be challenging. During the first session, I will listen to your story, gather background information, and work with you to create a vision of a healthier you. Together, we will set concrete goals for your future and for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a seasoned clinical social worker, I bring a compassionate presence that helps you feel seen and heard. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore their challenges and discover your own strength and courage. I will listen intently, ask thoughtful questions, offering a balance of clinical insight and connection. Whatever current challenges you are facing, my goal is to equip you with tools to manage current stressors as well and those that lie ahead. I have worked in the medical field as a social worker for many years, the majority of my focus has been in oncology. Working with patients and family caregivers who are dealing with a new diagnosis, a terminal diagnosis, and survivorship challenges. I have experience in behavioral oncology research, working on many different clinical trials testing various behavioral interventions. I am a certified health and wellness coach, helping people create and achieve a healthier version of themselves. I have also had great success in helping individuals with anxiety and depression find ways to cope more adaptively with triggers and thoughts that cause distress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of my clients are dealing with a medical challenge, whether it be a new diagnosis of a chronic or acute condition, ready to learn ways to manage their physical symptoms and emotional challenges. Several clients are experiencing a major life transition, related to a relationship change, move, job change, and more. Grief and loss issues can add another layer of stress. If you are ready to start working towards improving your wellbeing and learning new ways of coping, let's connect and get started!

I felt very comfortable with Michelle. Almost felt like I was relating my concerns to a good friend. She helped me feel like I made the right choice starting Therapy. I look forward to talking with her in the near future.

Today was my first virtual session with Michelle and my first experience with Grow Therapy. Michelle is genuinely interested and an excellent listener. She’s very understanding and caring. I found her easy to talk to. I look forward to speaking with her again soon as I navigate through grief and the recent deaths of both parents in a ten month period. I’m experiencing two significant losses in a short time.
