Hi, I’m Melinda—I'm dually licensed as a Mental Health Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor. I work with millennials and adults navigating ADHD, life transitions, and parenting challenges with empathy and curiosity. I believe therapy should feel human, collaborative, and compassionate. My goal is to help you build insight, develop practical tools, and feel more connected to yourself—without judgment. I graduated in 2015, launched my private practice in 2023, and outside of therapy, I enjoy gardening, being crafty, and spending time in nature.
Our first session is all about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy right now. I’ll ask about your background, what you're hoping to work on, and any previous therapy experiences you’ve had. We’ll go at your pace, and there’s no pressure to share everything all at once. I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported from day one. I’ll also explain how I work, what therapy with me might look like, and answer any questions you have. My goal is for you to walk away from our first session feeling a little more hopeful and a lot less alone.
I use a variety of different treatment methods and interventions. I work from a client-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, and culturally informed perspective. I utilize Behavioral activation, DBT, CBT, Compassion focused therapy, Strength based therapy, Person-centered therapy and Meditation / mindfulness. Having the knowledge of many theories helps me to pull from different methods to create a custom approach that will help you to meet your goals.
Clients often tell me they feel safe, understood, and genuinely accepted in our work together. I bring a mix of curiosity, humor, and directness to therapy, helping clients feel both supported and challenged in meaningful ways. As someone with lived experience with ADHD, I offer practical tools alongside deep empathy. I'm skilled at creating space for tough conversations, especially around identity, self-worth, boundaries, and healing from emotionally complex family dynamics. I tailor therapy to you—not a one-size-fits-all model—so we can focus on what actually works in your real life.
I work best with teens and adults who are curious, motivated, and ready for change—even if they’re not exactly sure what that change looks like yet. Whether you're navigating life transitions, parenting challenges, ADHD, or unpacking childhood experiences , I provide a space where you can explore, heal, and grow without judgment. My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Many are new parents adjusting to a major identity shift, or individuals with ADHD who are tired of feeling disorganized and misunderstood. Some are healing from emotionally immature or toxic family systems and are ready to finally make sense of their stories. If you’re open to self-discovery and want to build sustainable skills for emotional regulation, boundaries, and communication, we may be a great fit. Therapy doesn’t have to be stuffy—it can be validating, empowering, and even empowering!

It has been an excellent experience thus far, great to be able to chat and have someone listen, but provide feedback when applicable. Happy to have found Melinda and Grow Therapy.

I really appreciate Melinda’s style as she was obviously listening with compassion and attention to detail. She was very kind, insightful, and patient as I worked through all that is bringing me to therapy at this time. I look forward to seeing her again.
