I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment to help you sort through what's bothering you. If you're feeling different or marginalized, overcoming your legacy of childhood abuse, sexual trauma or domestic violence, wanting to improve communication at home and at work, or working on your recovery, you can feel comfortable working with someone who is down-to-earth and compassionate. I'll help you go to whatever depth you're comfortable with, as well as offer practical guidance if that's what you're seeking.
A good fit between therapist and client is essential. During the initial session, you will have the opportunity to discuss why you're seeking therapy/counseling, ask questions, voice your concerns, and decide if my personal style and approach will best address your needs.
The number one thing clients say is that they feel comfortable working with me. Many people have had experiences in therapy that haven't been ideal: they've felt judged, misunderstood, or simply not heard. Others have had great experiences with a therapist who retired or became unavailable to them. My goals is to put you at ease so you can feel comfortable exploring what you need to.
I'll help you uncover hidden beliefs, feelings and assumptions that prevent you from leading the life you want, so that you can be the person you always wanted to be. I help individuals and couples develop skills to last a lifetime. I've lived in several countries and enjoy a diverse clientele. My practice is telehealth using a secure video platform.
An eclectic approach means that I use the treatment method that best suits my client. As a therapist with over three decades of experience, I use a variety of modalities, depending on your needs. Your therapy might be emotionally focused or cognitively focused. I might use gestalt techniques, positive psychology, motivational interviewing, couples counseling It will always be culturally, racially and gender sensitive, trauma-informed and compassionate.
