LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. With extensive experience working with youth in the foster care system and individuals who have experienced trauma, I use a compassionate, evidence-based approach to support clients navigating PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and suicidal ideation. Drawing from modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, I tailor each treatment plan to meet clients where they are. My strength-based and behavioral approaches empower individuals to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and foster emotional growth in a safe, supportive environment.
In our first session, we'll start by getting to know each other and creating a comfortable, supportive space where you feel safe to talk. I’ll explain a bit about how therapy works, including your rights, confidentiality (and its limits), and what you can expect from me as your therapist. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy and explore any concerns or goals you may have. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges. This helps me get a fuller picture of how to best support you. If you’re not sure what your goals are yet, that’s completely okay — we’ll work together to figure that out over time. Toward the end of the session, we’ll discuss a plan for moving forward and how often we might meet. You’re always welcome to ask questions or share anything that helps you feel more comfortable as we begin this process together.
One of my core strengths as a therapist is my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients. I create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe in empowering clients by helping them recognize their strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and take an active role in their growth and healing. I also have extensive experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors, and I approach these situations with patience, empathy, and a behaviorally-informed lens. My goal is always to meet clients where they are, help them feel capable and respected, and support meaningful, lasting change.
I am open to any individual wanting to make a change in their lives and is willing to try new things. Someone who is ready to heal from past traumas and focus on moving forward in healthy ways.
I was close to completing the certification in this modality. I use aspects of this modality when treating children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events and can support patients through trauma narration. I took seminars on working in this modality with CSEC population. I am experienced in supporting foster youth who have experienced traumatic grief and loss.
I use aspects of CBT throughout the therapy process with clients by challenging negative thinking patterns, bringing awareness to faulty thinking patterns; and helping clients to see connections in feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
My therapeutic methods includes constantly supporting clients in recognizing their own strengths in their lives. I often use positive affirmations and self-esteem building exercises to support clients in wellness.
Have experience working with clients with impulse controls, mood lability, self-harming behaviors, and high interpersonal conflicts by utilizing DBT skills and techniques.
I support clients in finding ways to incorporate mindfulness into their daily lives and often like to start or end sessions with a mindfulness activity.
