New to Grow
We all face challenging times, and learning to manage your mental health can help you navigate them more effectively. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, identity questions, life transitions, and everyday stress, including members of the LGBTQ+ community to name a few. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based frameworks to help you explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect, build flexibility in responding to challenges, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want. I provide a safe, affirming space where your identity and lived experience are respected, so you can live authentically and with greater clarity and resilience.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is an opportunity to explore what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and how we can work together. We’ll review confidentiality, discuss how therapy works, and identify goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you. The focus is on creating a safe, collaborative, and affirming space to get started. I also offer a free 10-minute consultation before your first session to answer any questions and see if we’re a good fit.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
With my vast experience and love of this work, I focus on creating a warm, client centered, and goal oriented treatment plan tailored to your needs. My approach is evidence based, non-judgmental with an emphasis on emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and values based action. When appropriate, I also use humor to gently address difficult topics and create a relaxed, approachable therapy space.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Clients who tend to do well in my practice are curious about themselves, open to learning new skills, and willing to approach challenges with honesty and kindness. If you’re looking for relief from distress, greater clarity, or a stronger sense of direction, therapy can be a supportive space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you. I would be honored to partner with you on that journey.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In my work, I use ACT a flexible and evidence based framework to help clients clarify their personal values and commit to a more meaningful, value driven action, even in the presence of distress. I regularly integrate core ACT processes such as: mindfulness, acceptance, cognitive defusion, value clarification, and committed action.
Gottman method
I have experience using the Gottman Method Couples Therapy as an evidence based approach to working with couples. In my practice, I use the Gottman framework to assess relationship strengths and challenges and to help couples improve communication, increase emotional connection, and manage conflict more effectively. Interventions such as building love maps, enhancing fondness and admiration helps couples identify and reduce destructive patterns.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my work, I use CBT which is an evidence based model that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By collaborating with clients we identify cognitive distortions, develop more balance adaptive thought patterns, and implement coping and problem-solving strategies. I regularly use interventions such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, exposure techniques, skills training, and homework assignments to support progress between sessions.
Gender-affirming therapy
I use a variety of evidence based approaches tailored to support, LGBTQ+, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients. I provide a safe, affirming space to explore identity, expression, and lived experience without judgment. I support gender exploration, dysphoria, minority stress, internalized stigma, and life transitions such as coming out, relationships, work, or school. I also provide informed consent letters for medical transitioning when needed.
