LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
My professional experience has lended opportunities to work with various demographics and clinical issues. From hospitals, to rehabs, to individual and group counseling, I have been able to craft a knowledge base grounded in both CBT and DBT principles that can provide relief and guidance to those who need concrete skills to create change in their lives. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention and solution-focused therapy intended to help clients find prompt relief from mental distress and begin to feel more capable of coping with life's immediate challenges.
My primary goal in the counseling process is for clients to feel as though their lives are improving in noticeable ways through our work together. My approach to providing care is collaborative, as the quality of the therapeutic relationship is just as important as the treatment modality in the overall outcomes of the counseling process. My hope for every client is to offer the insight, structure, and guidance needed to recognize patterns that are no longer serving them and move forward with lasting changes that will help create the life they wish to have.
My professional career has provided opportunities to work with clients at all stages of life and with various needs. I’ve spent several years working with clients in group and individual settings, as well as clients in active crisis. I specialize in using CBT/DBT techniques combined with motivational interviewing to help clients identify tangible skills that can be used to improve their lives and continue their growth, even after their therapeutic treatment has completed. My knowledge and experience in working with various clients has shaped my ability to provide both the support and education needed for clients to create noticeable changes in their day to day lives and improve the quality of life they are living. We won't just talk in therapy; we will find ways to take action in order to create change.
My best work is done with clients struggling to change destructive patterns. Whether that is self-harm, substance abuse, compulsive behaviors, or difficulties with relationships. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families - all of whom are seeking new and functional skills needed to improve their lived experiences and feel more fulfilled in their day to day lives. My clients are seeking concrete, sustainable ways to create change for themselves, feel better equipped to handle life’s challenges, and get the most from the life they are living.
