Hi! I have my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am in my second year of acquiring a Ph.D. in Psychology from Liberty University. I have worked in North Texas over the last few years in private practice groups and as a therapist and clinical director at a residential treatment facility for adolescents with substance abuse and mental health diagnoses. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and have extensive experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression and mood disorders. I have worked with adults, couples and adolescents through various challenges of life and have a passion for continuing to serve this population. I believe that there is immense healing found in counseling as it provides a safe place for individuals to explore their unique journeys and reach their full potential. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I will listen to where you currently are in life and what challenges you are facing. I will try to understand how you're feeling and what the most important thing is to you in the moment. We will work together to figure out the best moves forward and I will help give you hope that process will be worth your time and energy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Empathy is one of my most significant strengths as a therapist. I genuinely put myself in my clients' shoes, striving to understand their feelings and experiences from their perspective. By empathizing with their struggles, I can provide empathetic responses that validate their emotions and experiences. This empathy also helps me tailor my approach to each individual, recognizing that each client is unique and requires a personalized therapeutic journey.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is used to work through emotional regulation, acceptance, mindfulness and relational challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used in counseling to address faulty thinking and replace it with healthy thoughts that encourage functional behavior.

Christian Counseling

For those who have Biblical values, this is a Christian-friendly approach that ensures personal beliefs and convictions are respected while also emphasizing healthy, mental health-based interventions.

Attachment-based

This is mainly helping in understanding relational conflict and how the client reacts when triggered. Understanding where the attachment issues come from and which type it is, helps in resolving conflict and finding safety in relationships.

Couples Counseling

This is for couples that are struggling in relationship or simply want to improve things like intimacy, communication, and trust.
