LCSW, 1 years of experience
As a working mom and therapist, I understand the intricate balance of managing personal and professional responsibilities. My experiences as a parent inform my practice, allowing me to connect deeply with clients who face similar challenges. I create a supportive and empathetic environment where we can explore the complexities of your life, including the demands of work, family, and self-care. Together, we will navigate your journey toward balance and fulfillment, honoring your unique experiences and aspirations. I am here to help you develop strategies that fit your life, fostering resilience and personal growth along the way.
I will learn more about you … I will ask what brings you into the session. What would you like to work on? What you are hoping to get out of therapy? I will ask you what are some goals you would like to work on. This is usually done as a conversation…. Questions are encouraged throughout the session. I will end the session by asking if there is anything you want to add that has not been talked about. To close we discuss how often you would like to meet and your schedule preference.
As a therapist, one of the biggest strengths I can offer is empathy. I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. This helps them open up about their feelings, thoughts, and experiences without fear of being criticized. Additionally, my ability to listen actively and offer insights, while adapting to each client's unique needs, is a key strength. Every person has a different story and a different way of processing emotions, so I tailor my approach to meet them where they are. Finally, I believe in fostering collaborative growth. Therapy is a partnership, and my goal is to empower clients to find their own strengths and solutions while offering guidance along the way.
I work with clients who are facing conditions such as Anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorder. I have experience supporting individuals through life transitions; divorce, new parents, retirement, and career transitions.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy, this allows me to be flexible and responsive to each client’s unique needs. By drawing on a variety of therapeutic techniques, I can create a personalized approach that suits the specific concerns, preferences, and challenges you are facing. I can help individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or personal growth, using an eclectic approach.

I would not recommend this therapist, as she is flaky with her scheduling and frequently asks to change appointment times. While life happens and occasional changes are understandable, this became a constant pattern. For people seeking therapy, stability and trust are crucial, and being inconsistent with scheduling can quickly erode that trust. I tried to give it a chance, but just when things were starting to feel productive, she manipulated the schedule again and then shifted the blame onto me. She asked me to accommodate her availability, and when I wasn’t able to, she claimed our schedules were no longer compatible. Do you want to know why I couldn’t accommodate the change? I was flying out for a funeral and had a job interview—both of which she was aware of, as we had been discussing family-related trauma and work stress in our sessions. She had even encouraged me to leave my job. While that was ultimately my choice, I felt more confident about it because I believed I had her support. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, she flipped and abandoned the therapeutic relationship. This is actually a breach of the therapist-client agreement and is highly unethical. I’m now in a vulnerable position and have to start over with someone new, which is incredibly difficult when you're already in a delicate emotional state. For these reason, I would not recommend her to anyone.

Vanessa was excellent. Much of her advice really resonated with me and she even recommended a book. I plan to continue therapy with her
