Hi! I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) based in New Jersey. I earned my master’s degree from Walden University and bring over 20 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse, now with a year of practice as a PMHNP. I support individuals and families facing anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions—drawing not only from my clinical background but also from personal experiences with loved ones battling mental illness, as well as my own journey through grief and depression.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you through a thorough assessment, so I can fully understand your experiences and concerns. This will allow us to collaborate on a personalized plan of care that aligns with your goals and supports your overall well-being moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Having spent over two decades as a psychiatric nurse and years caring for loved ones with mental health struggles, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how mental illness affects every part of life. This personal and professional experience has shaped me into an empathetic provider who truly connects with my patients’ feelings. I work with you to uncover the root of your challenges and develop a personalized, collaborative care plan that supports real, lasting progress.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with individuals and families across all age groups who are navigating the challenges of mental health. My clients often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of how to cope, and I approach each case with deep empathy and understanding—shaped by both my professional background and personal experiences with mental illness and loss. They are seeking hope, healing, and the tools to regain control of their lives, and I’m here to walk with them through that journey. My greatest pride comes from seeing my patients improve, regain their strength, and go on to live life to the fullest.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
To use CBT effectively, start by building a strong, trusting relationship with the patient. Identify negative c patterns and behaviors, and teach the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Help the patient challenge and reframe unhelpful thoughts, while using specific techniques to change problematic behaviors. Assign homework to reinforce learning between sessions and review it regularly. Track the patient’s progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed. Finally, prepare the patient for long-term success by creating a relapse prevention plan and helping them build confidence in managing future challenges independently.
Christian Counseling
I incorporated biblical values, such as grace, forgiveness, and hope, while respecting the client’s personal beliefs. I addressed mental health issues like anxiety or trauma using evidence-based approaches, but also consider the client’s relationship with God and spiritual struggles. Throughout the process, I maintained ethical boundaries, ensuring faith is integrated only if it aligns with the client’s goals and values.
Family Therapy
We used family therapy to help the family improve communication, understand each other’s perspectives, and resolve conflicts in a supportive setting. By addressing patterns that affect the whole family, we guided members toward healthier interactions, stronger relationships, and more effective problem-solving as a unit.
