Licensed in AZ and WA!! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with 26 years of experience as an independently licensed therapist & believe in a holistic approach; mind, body & spirit. I believe in taking a balanced approach to health & healing. I think it is important to feel I am a good fit and that I hear what you are saying & wanting. I believe in building on strengths in order to heal past traumas or even situations of the present moment. I use a variety of modalities in order to meet differing individual needs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is focused on getting to know each other; allowing you the ability to ask any questions you may have and allowing me to get to know you, what is bringing you to therapy, and what you want to get out of therapy. After the first, or sometimes second, session we will develop a plan to help you meet your individual goals. Because as humans we are complicated beings, things can change as we go along, new insights are gained and new issues surface, and we may need to alter the plan. That's okay! I am here to help you meet your goals in the best way possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a holistic focus and will help you explore parts of yourself that are your strengths and those parts that need healing or nurturing. I take a mind, body, spirit approach and strongly believe in healing and resolving issues rather than just trying to learn to cope and deal with it. I believe that healthy coping strategies are necessary, however are not the end of the process. I also provide my clients with tools/strategies to practice between sessions so that when therapy ends you have the means for ongoing health, healing, and coping to get through challenging times and to continue progressing in your growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with clients ages 18 years of age to 100+. I accept most insurance, including Medicare, and look forward to working with anyone that is interested being their best selves. We are all on a journey through life - let's make it a happy one!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What we think determines what we feel and those in combination affect our behavior. Using CBT strategies helps clients to recognize what they are thinking and feeling that results in unproductive behaviors. Learning to recognize and change counterproductive thoughts and feelings empowers clients to not only change behaviors but is also effective in reducing anxiety and depression.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am a Certified DBT therapist and utilize these strategies to assist clients in learning to self-soothe in order to regulate emotions.

Grief Therapy

Losing someone you love is hard, whether it is a person in your life or a pet that you treasured. The pain and sadness are real and there is no one way to grieve a loss. Helping you walk through this process in order to gain acceptance and loving remembrance are key in healing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

The mind cannot calm if the body isn't calm, therefore it is important for clients to learn how to calm both their body and the mind. Mindfulness based practices assist in calming/stress reduction, greater clarity in thinking, and experiencing greater joy in life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

A safe and supportive environment allows clients to explore and express thoughts, feelings, and issues that are causing distress without fear of judgment. This process fosters improved self-esteem, assists in resolving emotional pain, and encourages personal growth.
