Hi, I’m Michelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with college students and young adults. I help clients navigate anxiety, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions using practical, evidence-based tools that you can actually use in real life. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct, and I believe therapy should feel both supportive and empowering. Together, we’ll work on understanding your patterns, building emotional resilience, and creating meaningful change that aligns with who you want to be.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm, low-pressure space where we start getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been struggling with, and what you’re hoping might feel different in your life. We’ll talk about your current stressors, relevant history, and any goals you have for therapy. Most importantly, I want to understand what feels meaningful and important to you. We’ll collaborate to identify goals and begin creating a plan that feels realistic, supportive, and aligned with where you are. I’ll share how I typically work and offer ideas for tools or approaches that may help, but this process is very much a partnership. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and clear about the direction we’re heading together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the balance between warmth and structure. Clients often tell me they feel deeply understood and validated, while also leaving sessions with clear tools and direction. I integrate evidence-based methods in a way that feels practical, not overwhelming. I focus on helping clients recognize patterns, build emotional regulation skills, and make meaningful behavioral changes that align with their values. My work is collaborative and goal-oriented, and I emphasize real-life application so clients aren’t just talking about change, they’re actively creating it.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to work with college students and young adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted, but genuinely want things to change. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, academic stress, identity development, or difficulty managing intense emotions. I work well with individuals who are open to learning practical skills, reflecting on patterns, and doing meaningful work between sessions. At the same time, I can hold space wherever you are, whether you’re highly motivated and goal-focused or just trying to get through the week. If you’re looking for therapy that is supportive but also structured and growth-oriented, we would probably be a great fit!

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT as a practical, skills-based approach to help clients better understand their emotions and respond to them more effectively. The tools we use focus on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier relationships. I love DBT’s balance of acceptance and change, we work on validating what’s real and hard while also building skills that create meaningful growth. My style is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping clients leave session with tools they can actually use in day to day life.
