New to Grow
Hello There! I’m Michelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with their own strength and inner wisdom. So often the answers are already within you, and therapy allows the space to reflect, gain clarity, and build confidence to trust yourself again. Seeing this happen is why I am so passionate about mental health. My style is warm, collaborative, and authentic. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel both supported and empowered. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build emotional resilience, and help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with the life you want to live.
In our first session, you can expect a warm, low-pressure space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been struggling with, and what you hope might feel different in your life. We’ll talk about current stressors, relevant experiences, where you feel you are right now, and as where you’d like to be heading. From there, we’ll start identifying goals and creating a plan together that feels realistic and supportive.
My primary modality is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I focus on helping clients recognize patterns, build emotional regulation skills, and make meaningful changes that align with their values. I like to keep things active and practice, emphasizing real-life application so you aren’t just talking about change, you're actively creating it.
I work best with clients who are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated to grow, even if they’re not sure where to start. Many of my clients are college students or young adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, identity development, and the pressure to have it all “figured out.” My ideal clients are curious about themselves and open to learning new skills.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT as a practical, skills-based approach to help clients better understand their emotions and respond to them more effectively. The tools we use focus on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier relationships. I love DBT’s balance of acceptance and change, we work on validating what’s real and hard while also building skills that create meaningful growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and replace them with more supportive ways of thinking and responding. Over time, this work helps you build emotional resilience, greater self-awareness, and a stronger sense of direction in your life.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them or trying to eliminate them entirely. With ACT we focus on developing psychological flexibility, making space for discomfort while still moving toward the life you want. With ACT we work to clarify what truly matters and take meaningful action aligned with those values. The goal is to help you feel more grounded, present, and empowered.
