Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my degree and training from Loma Linda University. I hold a masters and a doctorate in the field. I have 4 years of experience. I have worked with people from a family systems approach, as well as a biopsychosocial and attachment approach to help create healing. I have most recently worked with the LGBT+ community as I have spent most of my time working with people who live with HIV/AIDS.
In our first session together, we will start with an introduction. We will get to know each other to ensure that we are a good fit. It is important that you feel comfortable with me because I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to creating healing.
Having focused on an attachment framework, my greatest strength is focusing on the therapeutic relationship. I will aim to have our relationship be the safest and most secure relationship you have experienced. This will assist you in replicating that in other relationships. A second strength is that I am a direct therapist. While I am gentle, I do not hesitate to say what needs to be said.
I love working with people who are experiencing significant changes in their lives. This often creates existential questions, and I believe working through the present in the context of the past can help create changes. I also appreciate working with people who have experienced significant trauma during their childhood, especially those who have had family ruptures. I believe attachment wounds are the center of a lot of emotional, mental, and relational pain. Working through them and learning how to create secure attachments can make a significant difference in their lives.
