LPC, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) offering telehealth services to clients in PA. I have over five years of experience specializing in eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety and depression. My approach emphasizes acceptance, autonomy, and practical tools to help my clients achieve balance and overall well-being.
During the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming space where we'll begin to build a foundation of trust. We'll discuss what brings them to therapy, explore their goals, and review relevant history to help me understand their unique story. This session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions and share any concerns about the therapeutic process.
I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences. My sessions are collaborative and compassionate, balancing acceptance with gentle encouragement to foster growth and change. Working with me feels empowering and affirming, as I focus on honoring each client's unique journey and guidance to help them achieve their goals. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel valued, supported, and empowered. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome their challenges, build self-compassion, and find balance in their lives. Watching my client reconnect with their inner strength, create meaningful change, and do things they thought were not possible is the most rewarding part of my job.
My dream client is someone who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain, but holds a quiet hope that things can get better. They often struggle with anxiety, body image concerns, or disordered eating, and carry a deep inner conflict—wanting change while also feeling unsure where to start. They might be perfectionistic, self-critical, or burdened by the pressure to always have it together. Despite their doubts, they are introspective, curious, and willing to explore their experiences. Their goals often include finding relief from anxiety, building a more compassionate relationship with themselves, healing their relationship with food and their body, and learning to live in alignment with their values. They want to feel more grounded, more at peace, and more connected—to themselves and to others. What they’re looking for is a therapist who can hold space for their ambivalence, guide them with warmth and honesty, and help them move toward lasting, meaningful change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In session, we will work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced, realistic thoughts that support healthier coping strategies.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is used to support clients in managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and increasing distress tolerance. We will incorporate skills such a mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance to help find a balance between acceptance and change.
Exposure Response Prevention is used to help clients gradually face feared situations or thoughts while resisting the urge to engage in compulsive behaviors. We will work together to create a personalized hierarchy and build confidence in the ability to tolerate discomfort without relying on avoidance or rituals.
With the person-centered approach, I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives, and I support their growth by building a trusting relationship rooted in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.
