LMHC, 9 years of experience
Hello. Are you currently feeling stuck and overwhelmed? Do you find yourself angry but can't pinpoint why? You do not have to mange these feelings alone. I absolutely love working with women who have experienced unfortunate shit in their lives. After beginning my own healing journey, I understand the importance of nurturing yourself before taking care of others. I am Kayla Crawford, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in the state of Florida. I have a Master's degree in Counseling and Psychology. I come to you with over 18 years experience in the mental health field. I have worked in multiple outpatient and inpatient settings with at risk youth and families. I am now dedicated in helping women listen to their bodies to blossom into their true self, so that they can begin to navigate their relationships with confidence and ease.
In our first session together, we will start with introductions and explore your strengths and challenges. We will then explore a quick snapshot of your history to start to uncover what has happened to you. Afterwards, I will create a treatment plan that we will use as our roadmap to accomplish your goals for therapy.
After working with survivors of relational trauma for quite sometime. I have developed an approach that focuses on helping to heal all parts of you. This approach works over and over in assisting my clients with gaining quantifiable progress.
I work best with women who have a pattern of unfortunate relationship experiences, such as domestic violence, sexual assaults and adults who had adverse childhoods. My clients often struggle with self doubts, feelings of guilt, low self-esteem, and feelings of hopelessness. Most of my clients struggle with getting over past experiences but want nothing more than a life of comfort and ease.
Using EMDR skills, I assist you with decreasing your current body sensations and triggers related to earlier experiences. I then continue to implement EMDR skills to assist with with creating a future plan, to address future challenges with similar symptoms and triggers.
