I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and the founder of Mindful Embrace Therapy, LLC in Lafayette, Indiana. I provide compassionate counseling for children, adolescents, and adults through both in-person and telehealth services. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices, helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies. In addition to individual therapy, I offer group therapy opportunities and am expanding services to include art therapy and intensive outpatient-style support. I partner with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to build strong referral networks and ensure clients receive well-rounded care. Dedicated, professional, and community-focused, I combine clinical expertise with a personal commitment to helping people embrace growth, resilience, and lasting change.
During our first session, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I begin by learning about what brought you to therapy, your background, and what you would like to accomplish. This helps me understand your unique experiences and the goals you want to work toward. I also explain how therapy works at Mindful Embrace, including confidentiality, scheduling, and what you can expect from me as your therapist. Together, we begin to explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and we identify some initial strategies or coping skills you can start practicing right away. Most importantly, the first session is about building trust and forming a collaborative partnership. I want you to leave feeling heard, supported, and encouraged—knowing that therapy is a place where you can grow, heal, and begin making positive changes in your life.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate, and nonjudgmental way. I create a safe and supportive environment where people feel comfortable opening up about their struggles. I combine this warmth with a structured, evidence-based approach—especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—so clients not only feel understood, but also leave each session with practical tools they can use in their daily lives. This balance of empathy and effectiveness allows me to meet clients where they are, build trust quickly, and guide them toward meaningful, lasting change.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who are ready to make positive changes in their lives but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to start. My ideal client may be struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, family stress, or challenges in school, work, or relationships. They are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and willing to engage in the process of learning new coping skills and healthier ways of thinking. I find it especially rewarding to work with youth and families who want to strengthen communication, improve relationships, and create a more supportive home environment. I also value working with adults who are navigating stress, self-esteem concerns, or major life changes and are seeking tools to build resilience and confidence. Above all, my ideal client is someone who is open to collaboration and willing to take steps—big or small—toward healing, growth, and embracing a better version of themselves.
