I am a warm, bold, and value-centered therapist who helps children and families grow stronger emotionally and relationally. I work especially well with professionals, leaders, and high-achieving families who value faith, intentional parenting, accountability, and strong family connection. My style blends compassion with honesty — creating a space where clients feel supported, challenged, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I believe parents should be active participants in the therapeutic process, and I focus on strengthening not only the child, but the entire family system. My work is rooted in evidence-based care while honoring the emotional, relational, and spiritual values that matter most to the families you serve. Through approaches like Family Therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, attachment-based therapy, and Christian counseling, I help families move from stress, disconnection, and overwhelm toward healing, resilience, and deeper connection. At my core, I am a therapist who values faith, family, growth, and emotional wellness — helping families lead with both strength and compassion.
During the first session, we will talk about what brings your family to therapy, the challenges you may be facing, and the goals you hope to achieve through the counseling process. I take time to understand each child’s emotional, behavioral, social, academic, and family experiences, while also recognizing the strengths and values that already exist within the family. For children and teens , I use a developmentally appropriate and engaging approach to help them feel safe and connected. Depending on the child’s age and comfort level, sessions may include conversation, creative activities, or play-based interventions. I also strongly value parent involvement and collaboration, as I believe meaningful progress happens when caregivers are active participants in the healing and growth process. Clients can expect me to be both warm and direct. I provide a supportive environment while also helping families identify patterns, strengthen communication, and develop practical tools that can be applied outside of therapy. For families who desire it, I can also incorporate faith-based values and Christian principles into the therapeutic process. By the end of the first session, clients often leave with greater clarity about the therapy process, a better understanding of treatment goals, and a sense of hope and direction for moving forward together.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance of warmth, honesty, and practical guidance I bring into the counseling process. I strive to create an environment where clients feel genuinely supported while also challenged to grow, take ownership, and make meaningful changes in their lives and relationships. Another aspect that sets my work apart is my focus on the family system as a whole. Rather than only addressing symptoms or behaviors, I help families identify underlying patterns, strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and build healthier ways of relating to one another. I also provide practical tools and strategies that families can apply in everyday life to create lasting change beyond the therapy room. My goal is not only to help families navigate immediate challenges, but also to equip children and parents with the emotional insight and relational skills needed for long-term growth and healing.
I am best positioned to serve children, teens, and families who are motivated for growth and open to actively engaging in the therapeutic process. I work with families who are professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs, and high-achieving parents who deeply value faith, family connection, emotional wellness, and intentional parenting, but may also be navigating stress, overwhelm, family conflict, behavioral challenges, or emotional disconnection within the home. My ideal clients are parents who want to be involved in their child’s healing and development and who understand that lasting change often requires support, consistency, and collaboration both inside and outside of therapy sessions. I work especially well with families who appreciate a therapeutic style that is warm, honest, structured, and growth-oriented. I support children and teens experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, anxiety, family transitions, grief, and parent-child conflict. I also work with families who may feel stuck in cycles of frustration, miscommunication, or emotional distance and are looking to strengthen connection, trust, and stability within their relationships. In addition, I serve clients who desire a values-centered approach to therapy, including those who wish to incorporate faith and Christian principles into the counseling process. Many of my clients are seeking not only symptom relief, but also deeper emotional healing, healthier family dynamics, stronger coping skills, and long-term personal and relational growth. The clients who tend to benefit most from working with me are those who are ready to do meaningful work, value accountability and emotional insight, and want practical tools that can create lasting change for themselves and their families.
Other specialties
I identify as
Family Therapy
My style is both compassionate and direct. I strive to create a safe space where families can have honest conversations while feeling supported and respected. I also incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), experiential and attachment based interventions, strengths-based interventions, and insight oriented techniques to support long-term growth and emotional resilience.
EMDR
My experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) has involved supporting adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, distressing life events, and emotionally overwhelming experiences that continue to affect their daily functioning and relationships. My approach to EMDR is compassionate, structured, and paced according to each client’s level of readiness and emotional safety. I understand that traumatic experiences can impact how individuals view themselves, relate to others, and respond to stress, and I use EMDR to help clients process these experiences in a way that promotes healing, resilience, and emotional regulation. For children and teens I will use developmentally appropriate EMDR interventions and often collaborate closely with parents to support progress outside of sessions. I believe caregiver involvement can be an important part of helping children feel safe, supported, and successful throughout treatment.
Trauma-Focused CBT
My experience with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) includes working with children, teens, and families who have experienced trauma that impacts daily functioning, emotional regulation, and relationships. My approach to TF-CBT is warm, structured, and collaborative. I understand that trauma can affect how children and teens think, feel, behave, and connect with others, and I work to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can process difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable and developmentally appropriate. TF-CBT combines trauma-sensitive interventions with practical coping and emotional regulation skills. In treatment, I help children and teens identify and manage overwhelming emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and gradually process traumatic experiences in a safe and supported way. I also focus on helping clients rebuild confidence, increase emotional resilience, and restore a sense of safety and stability.
Attachment-based
My experience with attachment-based treatment has focused on helping children, adolescents, and families strengthen emotional connection, build trust, and develop healthier relationship patterns. I have worked with families navigating anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, family transitions, emotional dysregulation, and parent-child relationship difficulties that often stem from disruptions in attachment and emotional security. My approach to attachment-focused therapy is warm, relational, and family-centered. I believe secure relationships are foundational to emotional health and healthy development, and I work to help children and caregivers better understand one another’s emotional needs, responses, and patterns of connection. In treatment, I focus on strengthening the parent-child relationship by improving communication, emotional attunement, consistency, and trust within the family system. I help caregivers recognize how attachment experiences influence behavior, emotional regulation, and relationship dynamics, while also equipping them with practical tools to respond to their child with both structure and emotional support.
Christian Counseling
My experience with Christian counseling involves supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families who desire to integrate their faith and values into the therapeutic process. I have worked with individuals and families navigating anxiety, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma, stress, emotional struggles, and family conflict while seeking guidance that aligns with their Christian beliefs and family values. My approach to Christian counseling is compassionate, grounded, and holistic. I believe emotional healing and personal growth can be strengthened when clients are able to explore their experiences through both a clinical and faith-based lens. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their faith, spiritual questions, and personal values as part of their healing journey. I work especially well with professionals, leaders, and families who value strong relationships, intentional parenting, accountability, and faith-centered living. I also believe parents play a vital role in a child’s healing and development, and I encourage active caregiver involvement throughout the therapeutic process whenever appropriate.

I booked sessions with 4 different Grow therapists so that I could select the right person for the specific help I need now. After one hour, it was obvious that Latonia was right for me. She is intelligent, a thoughtful person who asks great questions, allowing her to diagnose/reveal what she sees as the core issue & patterns that therapy can help me with. She is a quick study, authentically empathetic, has a healthy sense of humor, and transmits warmth, even in a virtual format like this. Bravo
