I am a dedicated therapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children, teens, and adults. With a focus on empowering individuals, I help them navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, behavioral issues, and trauma. My approach fosters resilience and effective coping strategies, ensuring that my clients can thrive in their daily lives. With nearly 10 years working in schools, I also hope to build resilience in students and educators.
In our first session, I will review intake forms with you as well as figure out how I can best serve you. This is the time to determine if we are a good fit to work together. It's important that you feel comfortable with me as much as I am comfortable with you. I like to ask my clients questions to get to know them as well as seek to understand the reasons you took the brave step of seeking help.
I have worked with individuals and families in different capacities for over 15 years. I take pride in my ability to build relationships with most people and do my best to prove that I can be trusted. I have specialized working with children, teens and families through my years as a School Social Worker, but have also found myself providing much support to teachers and staff who work in schools. I understand the stresses related to the helping professions and wish to provide support to adults in these roles as well.
I have extensive experience working with children and teens who have experienced trauma, helping them process their experiences and build emotional resilience. I also collaborate with parents to support their children’s emotional and psychological well-being, offering guidance on effective parenting strategies.
Utilizing CBT, I guide clients in understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify negative thought patterns and work toward developing healthier responses. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where my clients can express themselves openly.
I have experience utilizing TF-CBT for children and teens to process and heal from traumatic experiences. We begin with learning about trauma and how to deal with stress that you might be feeling. Once you master the coping skills, we process the trauma together in a supportive environment.
With Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), we will work together to find solutions in the present and explore the client's hope for the future in order to find a quick and realistic resolution of their problems.
