New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor. I have enjoyed being a licensed counselor for many years (since 2006) after attending University of Maryland- College Park (Bachelor of Science) and Loyola University Maryland for my Counseling Psychology Master's Degree and licensing. I often use Rogerian Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques when working with clients. I currently work with people that are dealing with stressful work conditions (nurses, teachers, correctional officers, police, and software engineers) or people experiencing major life adjustments (marriage, career, disability, fertility concerns, new baby, and complicated grief). I have experience in working with people that are struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, and ADHD.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Hello and welcome! Many of my clients have said that they have felt some relief from their concerns in our very first session. I do not task my clients with homework as they often make important realizations within our session. My clients have reported to me that they feel more relaxed or at ease by the end of our sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I enjoy my work as a counselor. My clients are all different but they are similar in that they are motivated to improve their mindset. I am able to assist my clients in making dynamic revelations and insights, also known as "aha moments," in their life so that they may then take the steps forward for improvement. I am able to notice strengths easily in other people so that they may use those strengths to enhance their life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am open to meeting with any client but I specialize in people that are going through major life transitions or who are struggling with managing their mental health. Most of my clients need assistance in finding out how to feel more balanced, settled, and content.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
SFBT is a powerful form of therapy that focuses on solutions, strengths, and goals. I also practice Rogerian Therapy, which allows the client to feel unconditional positive regard, genuine concern, and empathy.
Faith based therapy
Some of my clients would like to use their faith during counseling sessions to assist them with their struggles. It provides them with a strong purpose and it gives them hope.
