LMFT, 10 years of experience
My name is Katherine and I am a licensed therapist. I work with young adults and adults (18 years and older). I have worked in mental health clinics, counseling centers, schools and treatment centers. I have worked with people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities. I value taking a whole person approach. I am inclusive and am thoughtful in my approach with each of my clients.
During our first session I will complete an intake to get to know you more, what you are hoping to get out of therapy, and review all expectations.
I will always bring my authentic self in each session. Expect honesty/directness from me, in a kind way. I have worked in the field for almost 10 years and have carried roles of a therapist as well as a clinical director. I have worked extensively with trauma, depression and anxiety with teens and adults. Trauma varies from a one time events, to multiple events. Trauma can also look like tough family relationships and is often multi-layered. I have additional training in Brainspotting (level 1 & 2) which is a brain-body therapy for various issues. Depression & anxiety can stem from how you see yourself, which is shaped from your personal experiences in relationship with others and in the world. It's hard to do it alone, especially if you're feeling like you're not sure where to start.
(Adults 18-40) I work with clients struggling with low esteem, difficulties surrounding boundaries, and goal setting.
