My name is Laura Zamora, and I have been a therapist for approximately 12 years. During this time, I have primarily worked with adolescents, adults, and seniors, providing both individual therapy and collateral therapy when necessary. My focus is on addressing emotional struggles related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and difficulties in relationships. As your therapist, I aim to walk alongside you as we explore repressed pain, memories, and experiences that have contributed to a life that is not aligned with your hopes and commitments.
I'm excited for our first session, which will take place via Telehealth. During this session, I will explain confidentiality, discuss the payment options for services, outline the therapy process, and answer any questions you may have about our work together. Once we cover these topics, we will begin exploring your expectations and goals for therapy. Additionally, I will gather information about any pressing concerns, symptoms, or impairments to better understand your life narrative. I am excited about our collaboration.
I primarily focus on a client-centered approach and strive to use a humanistic perspective whenever possible. I firmly believe that everyone has strengths, and I enjoy leveraging these strengths in our therapy sessions to help us achieve our goals. At the same time, I am direct and challenge my clients to encourage them to adopt a more positive mindset regarding the issues they are facing.
Many of us experience emotional and mental blocks. Adversity in life is inevitable, and we must learn to embrace change, no matter who it may affect. I encourage patrons to approach this journey with flexibility and openness as they explore the root causes of their emotional and mental blocks. Although it can be challenging, this process offers the opportunity to understand the true nature of our pain and discover how to transform it. By doing so, patrons can live authentically and learn to love themselves fully.
Laura Zamora offers therapy covered by Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
Patrons will be able to focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT empowers individuals to identify and modify negative and unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.
