Hello, I'm Lisa. Are you currently looking for some extra support in helping you get through your current difficult situation? Is stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, adjustment problems, or relationship problems impacting your wellbeing? Together, we can work collaboratively to help you develop new skills and rebuild your confidence in being able to overcome life's challenges. I have been providing psychotherapy and utilizing several evidence-based therapy techniques for over 11 years to adults, adolescents, children, and families.
In session, you can expect a caring, compassionate, and supportive style allows you to feel heard and empowered in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Therapy is effective when their is a alliance between client and therapist of which building rapport at the beginning of treatment is what clients can expect.
Working for a non-profit agency since 2012-2020 in providing services to adults, children, and families involved with DCFS (Department of Children and family Services) and experiencing various trauma allowed me to practice from a trauma focused perspective. I feel comfortable in working with various traumas that include domestic violence, sexual abuse, grief/loss, anxiety, and depression. Most importantly, I enjoy helping clients feel validated and empowered in building resilience.
I have experience in working with clients with issues surrounding areas with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
I commonly use CBT to help support issues with anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. CBT has been effective in identifying a persons learned patterns of unhelpful behavior along with tools to better cope with symptoms. Exercises in session and "homework" are effective in helping clients develop those coping skills on their own.
