New to Grow
My childhood and compassion for others led me to be a therapist. This journey involved unexpected detours and new life experiences. During that time I met many children and adults from different walks of life. I am accepting and understanding of the differences that make us unique and enrich our world. I am a helper by nature and have worked in the mental health field for six years. I am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential. I strive to assist my clients in finding their answers to life's struggles with understanding and honesty. My greatest joy as a therapist is when clients achieve insight into what is holding them back.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
As an empathetic and non-judgemental person I want my clients to be comfortable and at feel as ease from the moment we meet. The goal of the first session is to get to know each other and begin building rapport. I want to learn about your expectations and therapy goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic approach is authentic. No ones healing journey is linear because the path is rarely straight. I can help you work through barriers that may emerge while providing encouragement and support. Between session activities combined with in session discussion can maximize the effectiveness of treatment and get the most out of therapy.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have experience working with clients to overcome anxiety, depression and develop anger management skills. Most often our coping skills were developed by trial and error without conscious awareness. Often we find ourselves struggling through life wishing things could change. You have the power to create change because how we look at life and what we tell ourselves directly impacts our behaviors. I believe everyone enriches this world in their own way when they are functioning at their highest level.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Negative and irrational thoughts often keep us stuck. I have helped clients identify, challenge and restructure their negative self-talk. That awareness and shift in thinking has helped them overcome anxiety, improve mood and manage anger in healthier ways.
