(she/her)
¡YO HABLO ESPAÑOL! I am an immigrant who dedicated herself to achieving her educational goals and now career goals. Making myself proud as well as my family proud. Now, it is my turn to give back to the community that gave me everything. In 2017, I received my Bachelor's Degree from San Diego Christian College in Psychology, and in 2019, I earned my Master's degree from National University in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked in San Diego County with diverse populations who suffer from Substance Use and co-occurring disorders, such as mood disorders to psychotic disorders. I have also worked with those who are in a Mentall Health crisis throughout the country. I have witnessed first hand the way that our environment affects each and every one of us. ¡YO HABLO ESPAÑOL!
Our first session will be different from the following sessions. There will be an overall discussion of what brought you to meet with me that day. It will seem like questions and answers, or in an interview. Don't worry, the following sessions will be conducted in a manner that makes you feel safe. If this is your first time in therapy, I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you for at least one more session.
I am here to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to share your own experiences in life. How have your experiences molded you to be who you are now? My approach is Humanistic and provides complete positive regard. We will work together to manage any symptoms that are causing you distress. I hope that you feel seen, heard, and accepted, regardless of your experiences or emotions.
If you are reading my profile, it means you have decided to begin a healing journey. If this is the first time you are looking into therapy, and even if it isn't, this can be scary, and many will not know where to start. I want to guide you along the way. I am here to listen and see how we can work together. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live. I'm here to walk alongside you and support you in continuing your healing journey.
I have used and taught DBT in different populations and work environments.
CBT and DBT are ideally intertwined in combination to provide the best individualized treatment for each client.
A person is not only an individual; everyone is composed of multiple layers. You have your own experiences, your beliefs, your culture, your environment, and other layers that make you the unique individual you are. Using a multicultural approach, I can tailor our sessions and journey directly to you.
Everyone has experiences that have been negative or positive. A lot of them have caused us trauma. I am not here to judge or impose my beliefs; rather, I create a space where you can feel safe and share. This can only be done by meeting you where you’re at and creating rapport that will allow you to continue with this journey called life.
Carl Rogers identified that everyone is an individual, and therefore, we can’t lump everyone into a category. This means creating a safe space where you can share and discuss challenges. This is done by not judging you or acknowledging your experiences and perspectives.
