New to Grow
Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania and Virginia, and I work with individuals and families who are dealing with stress, emotional overwhelm and tough life transitions. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth, using practical tools from CBT and DBT with a trauma-informed approach. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood as we work toward meaningful change together.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In your first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your goals, current challenges and what’s most important to you. Together, we’ll start building a plan that fits your goals and you’ll have space to share at your own pace. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and understood from the very beginning.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my approach apart is that I prioritize creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and accepted. I combine evidence-based methods like CBT and DBT with a trauma-informed lens to provide practical tools for managing emotions, improving relationships, and coping with life’s challenges. I love helping clients feel truly seen and supported while supporting you in thriving to your fullest potential!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with individuals and families who feel stuck, stressed, or overwhelmed and are ready to make positive changes. My clients want to better manage emotional regulation, improve relationships, and develop practical skills to handle life’s challenges. If you’re motivated to learn, grow, and take an active role in your own progress, I can support you in finding balance and building lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In our therapy sessions, I use DBT skills to help you better understand your emotions and learn practical tools to handle difficult situations. DBT focuses on helping you build skills in four main areas: being more present in the moment, managing strong emotions, coping with distress in healthier ways, and improving communication and relationships. We’ll practice these skills together and figure out how to use them in your real life, in a way that feels manageable and supportive.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. We work together to change unhelpful thinking patterns and build practical skills that make everyday situations feel more manageable.
Trauma Informed Care
I use a trauma-informed approach that focuses on safety, choice, and understanding how past experiences may affect you today. We move at your pace and work together to build coping skills and emotional stability to help you feel more empowered in your life and relationships.
Family Therapy
Family therapy helps everyone understand each other better and work as a team. We focus on improving communication, reducing conflict, and finding healthier ways to handle challenges together.
