My treatment methods

Supportive

Through a supportive treatment approach, I focus my sessions on understanding the unique needs of each client, focusing on the importance of understanding and meeting clients where they're at, strengths based supportive approach. A supportive environment helps promote growth and reduce feelings of isolation, and is fostered in multiple areas of need that can be tailored to additional interventions later on in treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Throughout my practice I've incorporated CBT in working with trauma and helping clients examine their thoughts in a self-positive way that can lead to a decrease in impulsivity and unhealthy behaviors. Using CBT, I have focused on areas of generalized anxiety, trauma, and psychosis. Through a cognitive lens, I assist clients in exploring their initial thoughts to situations that may have lead to unhealthy behavior responses in the past, and help them learn new, self-positive, statements, to practice to reduce these unhealthy behaviors long term.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

As a therapist I have used mindfulness based modalities in a variety of settings, particularly with clients who feel easily frustrated or anxious in social or unfamiliar settings. I focus on the here and now when using mindfulness, and have emphasized the importance of nature and using the five senses to bring presence to the session and have helped clients utilize modalities such as yoga, hiking, and additional mindful based activities outside of sessions as homework to help ground clients and help reduce external stressors long term.
