If you are looking for progress in your life, therapy with me could be the best thing that you invest your time in. I talk with many clients who have had many therapists and have not moved forward in life. I have a great balanced approach of listening, validating, and helping clients problem solve. The thought that therapy can't be advice-giving, to me is a disservice to the effectiveness that therapy can have. Most often, people seek therapy for help and because they are stuck. Therapists are supposed to be professionals who can help guide and direct clients as they learn new skills and gain new perspective on their lives and the changes they need to make. I am a person who cares deeply for helping other people. I find such happiness in seeing others climb out of the trouble that they have been in for years.
Clients can expect to feel very comfortable, as I know all of my clients find me to be very relatable and fun to talk to. I am very honest, but also very understanding and compassionate.
I would say that my greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to understand clients, gain their trust, in order to connect on a level that fosters change in their life.
I am best positioned to serve older adolescents (16+), adult men and women, couples and family units. Lately, couples therapy has been a huge passion of mine and I believe it is where I am best equipped to serve.
I do have Christian beliefs and am always open to working with clients from a Christian world-view, where biblical principles can be applied to therapy.
I have utilized CBT since I began my work as a therapist. I love helping clients change the way they think and perceive different facets and issues in their lives. This is extremely helpful for any sort of relationship troubles, parenting growth, forgiveness, depression and anxiety related issues, and much more.
I have now been doing couples counseling for a year. This has been something I have really enjoyed doing, and have found my practices to be extremely helpful in helping couples navigate turbulent relationships. I work with couples to improve communication skills, conflict management and reestablishing the core foundations of a healthy relationship.
I am very passionate about helping the family unit, and believe that in many cases, the family unit is essential in the mental health of the individual. I have helped families with parenting struggles, grief and loss, conflict management and communication and many other issues.
SFBT is one of the core approaches that is integrated into all of my therapy methods. I am very passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find solutions to the problems they are navigating. I believe that therapy is meant to help client's figure out solutions to the interpersonal conflict they battle.
