Hi, My name is Dasheara Duck and I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I began my career as a assertive community health nurse working in Baltimore city and surrounding areas to bring awareness to mental health in the community. In 2016, I transitioned into the hospital setting where I specialized as a crisis stabilization nurse in the emergency room and a inpatient psychiatric nurse. Here is where my passion for mental health grew stronger as I began taking on more of a leadership role in my facility. In 2019 I decided to further my career as a psychiatric mental health nurse Practitioner and I have since obtained my license and began building my own practice. Beyond my professional life, I am a loving mother to two little girls.
The initial visit is usually the longest. We will spend some time getting to know each other to break the ice and build a rapport. I will ask questions about your presenting symptoms that encouraged you to seek treatment. We will discuss past psychiatric mental health history, medical history, social history, childhood experiences, and family history. From this discussion, we will develop treatment options specifically designed to fit your needs. You will leave the session excited for what's to come and ready to make the necessary changes to improve your mental health. Treatment options include forms of psychotherapy and medication management options to improve symptoms. Each treatment plan is specifically designed to fit the psychiatric needs of the individual.
I believe my biggest strengths is being able to connect and understand my clients. My sessions are person centered and in am able to connect with each patient on a more personal level.
My overall goal is to break the stigma in mental health. I help high performance individuals identify and manage anxiety and depressive symptoms. No more hiding! No more being afraid or ashamed of those aching feelings inside. Many individuals lives changed forever after covid-19 and many continue to seek normalcy years later. I am here to tell you that it is perfectly ok not to be ok. Many of us require assistance adjusting to our "new" normal. Its time to regain ourselves and strengthen our mental health to break the stigma.

Very open-minded. I like the fact that she feels like a sister and not a therapist. She's very intellegent and very forthcoming with solutions. i'm always at ease whenever I speak with her. It's like waiting to catchup with an old friend.
