Relationships can be strained or become challenging for so many reasons. Sometimes we all need help to find the best way forward in our relationship to ourself, our peers, our colleagues, or our loved ones. Have your relational difficulties begun to negatively impact your life, leading to challenging emotions, low self esteem, anxiety, depression or other concerns? I love coming alongside individuals, couples and families to collaboratively improve communication, understanding, boundaries, and overall relational health so that you can move towards the life and connections you hope for! More specifically, I have 12 years of specialized experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families to address concerning or problematic sexual behaviors. Reaching out for help to discuss concerns about sexual behavior, whether it be for you, you and your partner, or your child can feel scary and vulnerable. If you have concerns related to sexual behavior, you may also be experiencing confusion, anger, shame, isolation, anxiety or depression that is impacting your day to day life. If this is you, I am committed to creating a non-judgmental space to explore your concerns and partnering with you towards identifying next steps and solutions.
In our first session, you can expect jumping into sharing more about yourself and helping me understand what you are hoping for from therapy. I also want you to have time to ask any questions of me to make sure you know what to expect and that you want to move forward with treatment.
My experience has given me great compassion for those whose lives have been impacted by sexually abusive or reactive behaviors. I strive to create a non-judgmental space to talk about an often very sensitive, complex, and emotional topic. I am drawn to working with young adults and couples to promote healthy communication and relational repair. I also very much enjoy working with singles and college students.
CBT approach focuses on developing awareness of the connection between thoughts, emotions and behaviors, as well as challenging or interrupting negative thoughts and beliefs to support improved emotional and behavioral health.
I use primarily Gottman method to support couples towards improving their relationship with new skills for communication and connection.
I have completed an EMDRIA certified EMDR Basic Training and use this method to address unwanted symptoms that have their origin in trauma and negative beliefs about self.
I use Motivational Interviewing to better understand what changes you want to see in your life and what might motivate you towards making these changes. Motivational Interviewing honors that decision making around change can be complex and meets you where you are at in that process.
I use Solution Focused approaches to clarify changes you want to make and to highlight and build on what is already working in your life to get you there.
