About me

There is no shame in taking care of your physical body, right? And your head is connected to your body, right? Good, then we agree! There is no shame in taking care of your mind too! I am an LCSW, trauma therapist, and relationship & sexual wellness coach with over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, leadership coaching, and holistic wellness. I specialize in empowering motivated adults, veterans, and trauma survivors, tackle life’s challenges head-on. A proud veteran, I’ve served in the USAF, worked with the VA, Social Security, military members and their families. My mission: guide clients to find their inner courage.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session with me is a gentle starting point where we begin to build trust, explore your story, and clarify what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. It’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. I’ll guide you through each step with patience, empathy, and transparency. We’ll start by getting to know one another. I’ll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and what led you to seek support. This isn’t an interrogation, it’s a conversation. You’re welcome to share at your own pace, and I’ll meet you with curiosity and care. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals. Whether you’re seeking relief from trauma, navigating relationship dynamics, or simply trying to feel more grounded, we’ll talk about what matters most to you and how I can support your journey. I’ll also explain how therapy works, what our sessions might look like moving forward, and answer any questions you have.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often call me a “Unicorn” for my unique blend of clinical expertise, government service, and down-to-earth approach. My style is genuine, encouraging, and infused with humor. Whether through therapy or coaching, I guide individuals toward change using evidence-based techniques tailored to their needs. Clients often describe my style as steady, intuitive, and empowering. I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to walk beside you, challenge you when needed, and celebrate your progress. When we’re working through something difficult, I remain calm and patient, but I also hold space for accountability. Growth requires honesty, and I’ll help you face it with courage and compassion.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their emotional wellbeing and behavior. Whether we're addressing anxiety, trauma responses, or relationship dynamics, CBT offers a collaborative framework for building insight and resilience. I integrate CBT with mindfulness, somatic awareness, and narrative reframing. This allows me to tailor each session to honor the client’s lived experience while promoting practical, sustainable change. It’s not just about symptom relief; it’s about cultivating empowered self-awareness and choice.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) as a structured, evidence-based approach to help clients reclaim restorative sleep. Using techniques like stimulus control, sleep restriction, and cognitive restructuring, I guide individuals in shifting unhelpful sleep patterns and beliefs. Sessions are tailored to each client’s rhythm and emotional landscape, weaving psychoeducation with mindfulness and behavioral consistency. CBT-I not only improves sleep quality, it often enhances mood, resilience, and overall wellbeing, especially for those navigating trauma, anxiety, or life transitions.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is a space for partners to reconnect, repair, and reimagine their relationship with intention and compassion. I help couples navigate communication breakdowns, intimacy challenges, and relational wounds by integrating evidence-based methods like Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman approach. Sessions are tailored to each couple’s dynamic, weaving in trauma-informed care, attachment awareness, and practical tools for conflict resolution. Whether partners are healing from fracture or deepening their connection, I hold space for honest dialogue, mutual growth, and renewed emotional safety.

Sex Therapy

I approach sex therapy through a coaching lens- focusing on curiosity, empowerment, and embodied transformation. I support individuals and couples in exploring their desires, deepening intimacy, and rewriting limiting narratives around sexuality. Sessions are collaborative and forward-focused, blending psychoeducation with somatic awareness, communication tools, and values-based goal setting. Whether we're navigating sexual blocks, enhancing pleasure, or cultivating authentic connection, I create a space where clients can discuss sex safely and thrive.

Trauma Informed Care

trauma-informed care is foundational—woven into every interaction and intervention. I honor each client’s lived experience by fostering safety, trust, and choice, and by recognizing how trauma shapes the nervous system, relationships, and self-perception. My approach integrates somatic awareness, attachment-informed strategies, and gentle pacing to avoid re-traumatization and support healing. I hold space for clients to regenerate, rewrite internal narratives, and move toward empowered transformation.
