I believe therapy works best when it centers on you—your experiences, needs, and goals. My approach is person-centered and rooted in cultural humility, seeing you as the expert on your own life while I walk alongside you as a guide. Together, we’ll navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and create space for meaningful growth. I work with adults on a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma (including racial trauma), grief, identity development, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and conflicts. I specialize in helping adults who have experienced trauma and significant loss, using a two-pronged approach that supports day-to-day functioning while also processing past experiences. I bring 13 years of experience in the mental health field and have been a licensed counselor for 7 years. I am trained and certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, and I also incorporate Psychodynamic Theory and Trauma-Focused CBT into my practice. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience from Pennsylvania State University. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can heal, strengthen your emotional awareness, and build a deeper sense of self and personal freedom.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on building trust and creating a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences. I don’t believe in interrogation—our conversation will be collaborative, guided by your comfort and pace. We’ll talk through your personal history and the challenges you’re currently facing, while also identifying your strengths and resources. Early on, I like to provide something tangible you can use right away, such as a coping skill or strategy for symptom relief, so you leave the session with a tool that supports you in real life. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered from the very beginning.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach therapy with a person-centered, culturally aware lens, believing that you are the expert on your own life. With 13 years in mental health and 7 years as a licensed counselor, I’ve helped adults work through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I combine practical coping tools with evidence-based approaches like TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, and motivational interviewing, while also honoring your faith, spirituality, and unique strengths. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can build trust, gain insight, and grow stronger in your emotional awareness and resilience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or other mood-related challenges who want a supportive space to explore and process their experiences. I work well with individuals who value a person-centered, culturally aware approach and who may also want to explore the role of faith or spirituality in their healing and growth. My clients are ready to engage in self-reflection, develop practical coping strategies, and strengthen their emotional awareness and sense of self. Whether you are managing the impact of trauma, navigating life transitions, or seeking balance in your mental health, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to help you heal, grow, and live in alignment with your values.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe therapy works best when it centers on you—your needs, your experiences, and your goals. Each person is the expert on their own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as a guide, helping you navigate challenges and discover your own strengths. In a person-centered space, your voice leads the way. Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship rooted in respect, trust, and genuine understanding, so you feel empowered to make the changes that matter most to you.

Multicultural

Our identities and life experiences are shaped by many factors—our family, culture, environment, and the systems we live within. These influences can impact how we see the world, how we cope with challenges, and how we heal from pain. I approach therapy with a deep respect for these layers, recognizing that resilience and trauma are connected to the unique context of each person’s life. Together, we’ll honor your story and explore how these influences shape your path toward growth.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you work through painful experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable. Together, we’ll look at how those experiences may be affecting your thoughts, emotions, and reactions today—and we’ll build tools to help you cope, heal, and feel more in control. My goal is to help you reclaim your sense of safety, strength, and confidence.
