LPCC, 3 years of experience
New to Grow
My journey into counseling was shaped by years of serving others on the frontlines and witnessing the physical, emotional, and spiritual impact of trauma firsthand. I bring that same sense of compassion, discipline, and calm under pressure into the therapy space. I believe that healing involves the whole person, including the mind, body, and spirit. My approach blends evidence-based clinical methods with Christian principles when desired, helping clients not only manage symptoms but also rediscover meaning, identity, and purpose. Whether we are unpacking trauma, building coping tools, or walking through a season of growth, my goal is to create a safe space where you can heal honestly and at your own pace.
In our first session, we will take time to get to know one another and begin building a sense of trust and safety. I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what you have already tried, and what you hope to gain from this process. Together we will create a plan that feels realistic, supportive, and tailored to your needs. My goal for our first meeting is for you to feel heard, understood, and encouraged to take the next step forward in your healing journey.
I bring a calm and grounded presence to each session, supported by years of experience both as a clinician, firefighter and EMT. My ability to remain composed in moments of crisis allows me to help clients explore painful experiences without feeling overwhelmed. I am skilled at helping individuals identify patterns, build resilience, and find meaning through faith, self-awareness, and personal accountability. I value honesty, empathy, and connection. Clients often describe my approach as straightforward yet compassionate, structured yet flexible. Whether you are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, or personal growth, I offer a balanced combination of clinical insight and genuine care to help you move toward lasting change.
I work best with adults who are ready to take an active role in their healing and are open to the process of change. Many of my clients are individuals, couples, families, or those in high-stress roles who carry invisible burdens and find it difficult to relax or disconnect from their responsibilities. I also work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or faith-based identity concerns. For those who desire it, I integrate Christian counseling and spiritual direction, meeting you where you are in your faith journey. Whether you are seeking recovery from burnout, strength after trauma, or peace in the midst of uncertainty, my approach is collaborative, practical, and deeply human.
In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors. Clients learn to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges by using structured techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills training. These techniques increase the clients ability to recognize distorted thinking, develop healthier perspectives, and apply practical strategies in order to build lasting change.
For clients who seek this method, my approach integrates biblical principles with clinical techniques to support client's emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Sessions are grounded in evidence-based practices, such as CBT, mindfulness, and trauma informed care, while incorporating Scripture, prayer, and faith-based reflection to promote alignment between a client’s belief and their personal growth. The goal is to help clients strengthen their relationship with God, gain spiritual insight, and develop practical coping skills rooted in both faith and psychology.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that facilitates the brain’s natural healing process by using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds) while the client recalls specific memories. I use this modality to assist clients heal from traumatic experiences and distressing memories, because it helps reduce the emotional intensity and to reframe negative beliefs from past experiences. This modality also promotes adaptive coping and the relief from trauma-related symptoms.
My approach uses trauma-informed care by focusing on client safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment. I accomplish this by moving at the client’s pace, checking in often and integrating both regulation skills and grounding so not to cause re-traumatization.
