New to Grow
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who hold a Master of Social Work degree from San Diego State University and a Bachelors of Social work from Texas Southern University. I am a dedicated and compassionate clinician committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strengths. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe in the inherent resilience and potential within each individual. Through therapy, I aim to foster self-awareness, self-compassion, and a deeper understanding of oneself and others. My goal is to help clients cultivate meaningful connections, find greater fulfillment, and live more authentically. Whether you're struggling with daily stressors or facing significant life transitions, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is all about introductions and history gathering so that we can begin building our therapeutic relationship. Sometimes this can feel "question" heavy but this allows time to gather pertinent information that can inform treatment plan/goals beyond the information provided in intake. Together we will decide what direction we would like to move and how to structure our time space together. We can keep it surface or dive deep; either way I'm following your lead.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I take pride in my ability to be genuine and transparent in my approach with clients. This allows clients to establish a connection that feels safe which has a positive influence on their healing journey.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
A client who recognizes the importance at being committed to doing the work in and out of session is really important.
Psychodynamic
This approach allows exploration of past experiences, thoughts and emotions to gain understanding as to their influence on behaviors and feelings that impact your everyday life. I believe our environment and past experiences play a huge role in how we show in the world.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This approach supports client's in identifying negative thought patterns and utilizing different strategies/skills to challenge those thoughts and cope with the emotions in a healthy (adaptive) way. Most often used with clients who are navigating symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
This approach supports clients who are struggling with identifying next steps or have the inability to resolve something in their life, so using SFBT allows client to focus on desired outcomes and how to get their rather than spending time discussing the problems. This is assist client in recalibrating and executing their plan.
