I have 24 years experience working with children, families, individuals, and adults, as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I currently work with individuals who are over eighteen. My therapy style is warm, thoughtful, and respectful. I am EMDR certified, and I bring mindfulness based techniques, and IFS informed interventions into my work with my clients. We all have resilience and the ability to heal, we just sometimes need a little help finding it, and we all need someone with whom we can express ourselves fully. In discussing our challenges, we can transform our lives. Have you had experiences that have been painful, or hard to move on from? I am EMDR certified, and have extensive experience in trauma, parenting, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, autism, OCD, mindfulness, relaxation training, gender and orientation issues, I speak English, Spanish and French fluently.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session or intake, I will ask questions regarding history, traumas, mood. An initial intake is for building rapport, assessing a client's history, and current functioning. In a first session, I will also provide psycho-education regarding treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of the best attributes I bring to sessions is warm, empathetic, presence. I also bring many years of experience, as well as a creative, eclectic approach to therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, ocd, I love working with college age students, but I am comfortable with all ages except children. Please note, I do not see couples, only individuals.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have been EMDR certified through EMDRIA for one year. I combine EMDR with ego states interventions, and IFS informed parts work for EMDR. While my practice is always trauma informed, I use EMDR for depression, anxiety, OCD, ptsd, and many other diagnoses and issues that come up for clients.
