I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 30 years of professional experience providing psychotherapy services. I speak English and Spanish. I provide my clients with a unique approach helping them to identify and achieve specific therapy goals in a confidential, empathetic, and trusting atmosphere I help individuals understand their current circumstances in order to make changes that will have lasting positive effects. I use an Insight approach, where I help, a better understanding of my patients that leads to “individualized solutions”. My treatment approach is short-term, problem-oriented therapy sustained by my psychoanalytic background i. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational, and humanistic modalities, as well as evidence-based techniques. I strive to create a balance within my therapeutic approach based on my client’s particular needs and preferences. I have had the honor to serve a diversity of individuals and their families in a variety of settings, such as community mental health, crisis helplines, and outpatient programs (in a hospital setting). This was the first step. This is a safe space where you can create a vision for your life along with an action plan and strategies for how to achieve your goals once you have identified them. I will support you and encourage you to find your ambition and desire and ways to realize your possibilities.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

There are often instances throughout life where some guidance, insight, and support can be helpful in working through the transition. In therapy, we would address your areas of concern, the difficulties and challenges in your relationships, your choices, and the patterns of your thoughts. Treatment will include helping you understand your role in the stressors, reviewing and reinforcing any positive steps you may have already taken to deal with the stressors, and teaching you additional ways to cope with or avoid future stressors. Through therapy, you can put stressors in perspective to your overall life, and I will support you to better understand your reaction to them, and help you come to perceive stressors as an opportunity for positive change or improvement.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and behavioral issues. I have a special experience with midlife and empty nest transitions, career and work issues, aging, loss, divorce, and cultural adjustments. I utilize evidence-based practices to identify your difficulties easily and help you to resolve them effectively. I am committed to helping you make the changes in your life through an individualized therapeutic approach suitable to your needs.
