Hi, I'm DuJuana. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or sad? Do you struggle with low self-esteem and confidence? You are not alone. My goal is to help you become your BEST self. Together, we can identify what you feel is not working and address the WHY behind it. We will use a combination of cognitive-behavioral strategies with a client-centered focus to improve how you see yourself and experience life. Creating a more balanced view of yourself will enhance your relationship to self and empower your relationships and communication with others. Whether you are struggling with being a teenager or #adulting at any age, I am here to help. Let's GROW! I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), licensed in California and Texas although, I reside in the state of Texas and only provide virtual sessions.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions about how sessions will work before reviewing your completed intake form. This will help me understand what challenges your are facing and how I can help. We'll discuss possible goals to work towards based on your desired outcome. We start where you feel most comfortable.
One of my greatest strenghts is my faith-centered background. For clients seeking a Christian therapist, I feel I may be a great asset on their healing journey. Regardless of a potential client's spiritual/non-spiritual background, my strength of being a companion on your individual healing journey is a quality that can be helpful in any therapeutic setting. Although I work with all ages, my STRENGTH is in providing individual therapy to children, teens and young adults. This also extends to supporting amily relationships and communication challenges. As I am only taking on virtual clients right now, older teens and young adults would be my strongest niche for individual support. These ages are a time of many transitions (adulthood, college, career, relationships, etc.) and I can help you face any anxiety or depression that you may be feeling as you become who you are meant to be. Sometimes, we just need a place to feel heard. One of my strengths as a clinician is to listen to what you say...and what you don't say...that communicates what you are wanting to improve. In addition, I enjoy utilizing music, art and play (when appropriate) to enhance communication and mood management.
My main niche is children and adolescents, but for telehealth, I will only work with clients 15 and above. I am also well-versed in providing individual support to all aged adults. I also have experience providing couples therapy. I am a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator.
I tend to use a variety of techniques when working with clients. My base may start with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I will use Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques. My perspective tends to be from a systemic point of view, which is often how I will frame addressing whatever challenges you bring to session that you want to work through.
