LMFT, 9 years of experience
Hello! Beginning September 23rd, I will have availability on Tuesdays only. 5pm: weekly or bimontly appointments 6pm: weekly or bimonthly appointments 7pm: weekly or bimontly appointmets If you have a question about a particular day/time, please feel free to message me. My name is I'm DuJuana Ware. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) with a faith-based (Christian) background. I am licensed in California and Texas and currently provide only virtual sessions. I reside in the state of Texas which means I follow Central Standard Time (CST) for scheduling. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or sad? Do you struggle with low self-esteem and confidence? You are not alone. My goal is to help you become your BEST self. Together, we can identify what you feel is not working and address the WHY behind it. We will use a combination of cognitive-behavioral strategies with a client-centered focus to improve how you see yourself and experience life. Creating a more balanced view of yourself will enhance your relationship to self and empower your relationships and communication with others. Whether you are struggling with being a teenager or #adulting at any age, I am here to help. Let's GROW!
Prior to our first session you will recieve a disclosure form that explains my professional perspective and operating procedures. In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions about how sessions will proceed before reviewing your completed intake form. We will create possible treatment goals based on your desired outcome. We start where you feel most comfortable. Your intake form and all related documents must be completed at least a day prior to sessions. This will allow me time to review your concerns in order to best determine ways that I can support your healing and growth. If forms are not completed 24 hours in advance (minimum), intake sessions will be rescheduled at therapist's convenience.
As a Christ-follower, my approach to therapy is grounded in providing a supportive and empathic presence, which I believe can greatly facilitate the healing process for clients from all spiritual or non-spiritual backgrounds. I strive to be a reliable companion throughout each individual's unique therapeutic journey, offering guidance and encouragement in a manner that adapts to a wide variety of needs. While I welcome clients of all ages, my primary expertise lies in delivering individualized therapy for adolescents and young adults. I am dedicated to assisting with family (systems) dynamics and communication issues. Currently, I am accepting virtual clients, with a particular focus on older teenagers and young adults, as this developmental stage often involves significant transitions related to adulthood, higher education, career choices, and relationships. I am equipped to support clients in managing anxiety, depression, and other challenges that may arise as they navigate these formative experiences. I recognize the importance of providing a space where clients feel genuinely heard. One of my strengths as a clinician is my ability to listen attentively, not only to spoken words but also to the underlying messages and concerns that may not be explicitly stated. Additionally, I incorporate creative modalities such as music, art, and play, as appropriate, to enhance communication and promote effective mood management.
I a well-versed in working with individuals of all ages. For telehealth services, however, prospective clients should be 15 years old or above. My endeavor is to help clients--individuals, couples and families--to become the best version of themselves and address the emotional and behavioral challenges that hinder mental well-being and growth. I am a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator for couples.
I tend to use a variety of techniques when working with clients. My base may start with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I will use Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques. My perspective tends to be from a systemic point of view, which is often how I will frame addressing whatever challenges you bring to session that you want to work through.
