(she/her)
I am originally from San Antonio, TX. I was born to working class parents and attended the public school system. I speak English and Spanish. I attained 3 degrees overtime to include a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctorate. I have been a licensed therapist for several years. Having worked in a variety of settings, I am well networked, resourceful, and experienced. In addition, to counseling and therapy, I also have university teaching experience. I get along with others and generally have a positive outlook. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking. Additionally, I love animals, spending time with family, and the outdoors.
Clients can expect to be welcomed warmly. They can expect to have my undivided attention as we get to the bottom of the concerns together. They can expect an initial plan as to how we will resolve the concerns.
Many treatments exist but everyone is different as is their needs so I take an eclectic approach to therapy. I often draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical therapy, and experiential approaches just to name a few. In addition, I utilize smart goals to help move progress along at a good pace.
I excel at treating major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, life transitions, adjustment issues, and Tourette's Syndrome. Breaking things down to smaller, easier steps is one of my niches as is the use of reframing to reduce anxiety. Not many practitioners have formal training in treating Tourette's Syndrome but I do. I use that training to help sufferers live fuller lives.
