New to Grow
I’m Dr. Maryetta Finkley, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or burdened by an “invisible load” that others can’t see. I believe in helping people find their emotional balance—an inner sense of calm and stability that allows them to move through life’s ups and downs with greater confidence and peace. Therapy with me is a space to reconnect with yourself and rediscover your strength. Together, we’ll work toward developing tools to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and grief while creating a stronger sense of self-awareness and inner grounding. My goal is to help you return to your center—feeling more present, whole, and empowered to live life authentically.
Our first session is a time to build connection and trust. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your current challenges, and discuss what you hope to achieve. I’ll take time to understand your story, background, and goals so we can set a pace and direction that feels right for you. From there, we’ll begin shaping a plan that supports your healing and personal growth.
Clients describe my approach as warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I bring genuine care, authenticity, and practical guidance into every session. You’ll find a supportive space to process emotions, explore inner strengths, and learn effective tools for navigating life transitions, managing anxiety or depression, and building resilience. My goal is not just to help you manage difficulties, but to guide you toward rediscovering your calm, centered self.
I specialize in helping individuals and families coping with anxiety, depression, grief, and feelings of being stuck in life. I also work with those seeking personal growth, emotional balance, and a deeper connection to themselves. Whether you’re navigating change, healing from loss, or striving to build healthier patterns, I’ll provide a safe and empowering space to explore your emotions and move toward fulfillment and peace.
I use CBT to help clients dealing with anxiety and depression increase awareness of their thoughts and body, so they can learn to process rather than judge their experiences. This leads to greater self-awareness and improved ability to manage emotions. Combined with a person-centered approach and psychoeducation, I also encourage clients to journal, recognize maladaptive thought patterns, problem-solve, and make healthier decisions for themselves
Allowing client's to hear themselves through active listening and the use of open ended reflective questioning.
Teaching/educating client's about their diagnosis, problems and concerns promotes empowerment and more engagement in the therapeutic process. It helps clients 'connect the dots' assisting in the change process.
