New to Grow
I’m a licensed professional counselor who provides a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive space for healing and growth. I have a particular passion for working with Black women, supporting them as they navigate stress, identity, relationships, and life transitions within personal, cultural, and systemic contexts. Using evidence-based approaches and a compassionate, strengths-focused style, I partner with clients to build insight, develop effective coping skills, and move toward goals that align with their values and overall well-being
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we focus on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your concerns, goals, background, and what you hope to gain from counseling, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll also explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions you have, and work with you to begin identifying next steps for treatment
I blend evidence-based techniques with cultural awareness, collaboration, and genuine care. I focus on helping clients gain practical tools while also creating space for deeper insight and emotional healing, particularly for those navigating complex personal and systemic stressors. Clients often share that they feel both supported and empowered, leaving therapy with greater clarity, confidence, and skills they can use beyond our sessions.
My ideal client may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, but they are open to reflection, learning, and change. Many of the clients I serve are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity development, and the emotional weight of balancing multiple roles. They may be high-functioning on the outside while struggling internally, often carrying responsibilities for others while neglecting their own needs. I am especially passionate about supporting young adults, and professionals , particularly those from culturally diverse and historically marginalized backgrounds, who are seeking a space where they feel seen, heard, and affirmed. My clients often value a therapist who can integrate cultural humility, authenticity, and practical strategies into the therapeutic process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with more adaptive beliefs. Sessions focus on building practical coping skills and behavioral strategies to reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use person-centered therapy by creating a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment that promotes self-exploration and personal growth. Treatment emphasizes unconditional positive regard and supports clients in developing insight and autonomy.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use SFBT to help clients identify strengths, resources, and exceptions to their problems while focusing on achievable, future-oriented goals. Treatment emphasizes small, measurable changes that support progress and self-efficacy.
Supportive
I use supportive therapy to provide emotional validation, encouragement, and reinforcement of existing coping skills. This approach helps stabilize clients during periods of stress while fostering resilience and emotional regulation.
