LCSW, 6 years of experience
New to Grow
I’m a proud African American/Black Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed in California since 2022. With over six years of experience in mental health and social work, I’m passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges. My focus is on serving disenfranchised communities, including people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, trauma survivors, and those facing issues like depression and anxiety. I aim to create a safe, affirming space rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and social justice.
In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you will feel truly seen and heard. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, values, and sense of purpose. Together, we will work toward identifying and overcoming internal barriers, developing practical tools for coping and effective communication, and ultimately rediscovering the joys in life—however you define them. Whether we’re processing challenges or celebrating growth, I aim to create an environment rooted in authenticity, compassion, and curiosity. You will leave sessions feeling more empowered, self-aware, and aligned with the life you want to create.
My greatest strengths as a clinician include my ability to build genuine rapport, create a safe and supportive environment, and approach each client with empathy and cultural humility. I bring a balanced mix of compassion and directness, allowing me to challenge clients thoughtfully while still honoring their pace and experiences. I’m skilled at integrating evidence-based practices with individualized care, helping clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to make meaningful change.
My ideal therapy client is someone who approaches the process with openness and a willingness to explore their inner world. They are ready to grow, even when it requires vulnerability, and they are open to being gently challenged in ways that promote deeper insight and meaningful change. This collaborative spirit allows us to build momentum, confront obstacles, and create lasting progress together.
I have over six years of experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in identifying unhelpful thought patterns, developing healthier coping strategies, and making meaningful behavioral change. My approach integrates evidence-based CBT techniques tailored to each client’s needs, helping them build insight, resilience, and practical skills that promote sustained improvement.
I use a strengths-based treatment approach that emphasizes clients’ existing abilities, resilience, and resources to support their growth. I focus on empowering individuals by identifying their inherent strengths, reinforcing self-efficacy, and collaboratively building on what already works well in their lives. This approach fosters confidence, motivation, and sustainable progress.
I use a compassion-focused treatment approach that helps clients develop greater self-kindness, emotional safety, and understanding. By exploring the impact of shame, self-criticism, and difficult emotions, I support individuals in cultivating compassion toward themselves and others. This approach promotes emotional regulation, resilience, and a more balanced, supportive inner dialogue.
I provide culturally sensitive therapy that honors each client’s unique background, identities, and lived experiences. I strive to create a safe, inclusive environment by remaining aware of cultural influences on values, communication, and mental health. My approach centers respect, curiosity, and collaboration to ensure care is responsive, affirming, and grounded in cultural humility.
I provide trauma-informed care grounded in safety, trust, and empowerment. I recognize the impact that trauma can have on a person’s emotions, behavior, and sense of self, and I work to create an environment where clients feel secure and respected. My approach emphasizes choice, collaboration, and sensitivity to triggers, helping individuals build resilience and regain a sense of control in their healing process.
