Hi my name is Sara Tynes! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I was born and raised in Colorado and I have been living in California for the past six years. I have been practicing counseling for 8 years and have experience working with children, teens, adults, couples and veterans. I enjoy getting to know my clients, not just their challenges but also their interests and goals. My approach focuses on building meaningful relationships that helps support their journey toward well-being.
The first session will be an intake session gathering information to understand my client's background, their needs and goals for therapy. I build rapport with my clients and make them feel comfortable by showing my personality and compassion.
I use my compassionate personality to develop trusting and meaningful relationships with my clients. I believe in the power of healing through human connection and strive to ensure that your present pain doesn't make you forget about your future purpose.
I want to help people who seek improvement, can embrace being vulnerable, and who desire a sense of connection, not wanting to feel alone or face life's challenges in isolation.
Sara Tynes offers therapy covered by Central California Alliance for Health (Medi-Cal), Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal, L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Orange County Mental Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
I frequently utilize CBT to help clients become more aware of and change negative patterns of thinking and behavior. I enjoy how this approach is effective in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and many other mental health conditions.
I implement mindfulness to teach clients to bring awareness to the present moment. This technique is very helpful in reducing worry and strong emotions. This practice promotes a sense of calmness and relaxation.
I have been trained in Christian counseling and I offer this type of counseling through a local church. I utilize this form of counseling for clients who wish to explore their problems within the context of their religious beliefs and values.
I really enjoy working with couples and I have experience in pre-marital and marital counseling. I am a certified facilitator of Prepare and Enrich assessment which couples can take to identify areas of strength and growth in their relationship.
I provide encouragement to clients for them to utilize and leverage their strengths and capabilities. This empowers my clients and helps build self esteem.
