Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York. I received my Masters from Adelphi University and have been practicing for 15 years. I help adults struggling with depression and anxiety. I've assisted clients with developing healthy copping skills in order to manage there depression and anxiety. I am Caribbean American and have a passion for helping ALL people.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked in the helping profession for over 15 years, I’ve developed the ability to build rapport and show empathy towards my clients.
I love working with adults of all ages who are struggling with the daily stressor of life. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality.
CBT is psychosocial intervention that focuses on changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs , attitudes and behaviors. It improves emotional regulation and create a suite of coping strategies to solve problematic issues. I have incorporated CBT in grief counseling, couples therapy, anxiety and depression. I assist my patients with changing there unhealthy thought process though journaling, reframing negative thoughts, mindfulness, etc.
I help patients cope with loss, like the death of a partner, family member, friend, colleague, or pet. I explore memories of the loved one. I work on building a routine back with my patients and reidentifying themselves.
