About me

Gracias por estar aquí, thanks for being here! Entiendo que pedir ayuda puede ser difícil, sin embargo, es una experiencia muy humana sentir inseguridad sobre cómo seguir adelante en tiempos difíciles. I understand that asking for help can be difficult, and it’s a deeply human experience to feel uncertain about how to move forward during challenging times. Life's struggles can make it hard to manage daily responsibilities, often filling your mind with worries and overwhelming emotions. Therapy can offer a supportive space to process your feelings, gain clarity, and develop strategies that support your well-being. By seeking support, you're making an important commitment to yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding your reason for seeking therapy and how it’s impacting your life. I’ll ask questions to learn about you and your goals in therapy, while also answering any questions you have about the process. My goal is to support you in deciding what feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach our conversations in a gentle yet direct way, encouraging you to challenge patterns that no longer serve your goals while respecting your boundaries. I normalize and validate your life’s challenges and the discomfort that can come with making changes.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have extensive experience supporting the Spanish-speaking immigrant community and first-generation Latinx individuals impacted by unhelpful family patterns passed down through generations, acculturation stress, life transitions, and stigma related to mental health. I am passionate about helping people explore their identities, beliefs, and goals to feel more connected to themselves.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I prioritize creating a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard. This approach is centered on the belief that you are the expert in your own life and have the capacity for growth and healing within you. My role is to support and guide you, helping you uncover your strengths, insights, and solutions at your own pace. I seek to build a trusting relationship that allows you to explore your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an effective approach to understanding and changing patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to difficult emotions. I collaborate with you to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. By identifying unhelpful thought patterns, we work on shifting them to more realistic and positive ones. This can help reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, or stress.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

In culturally sensitive therapy, I prioritize understanding and honoring your unique cultural background, values, and experiences. I recognize that your culture plays a significant role in shaping how you view the world, cope with challenges, and experience mental health. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where you feel seen and understood, not just as an individual but as someone deeply connected to their cultural identity.
