New to Grow
Hello, my name is Shelia Thornton. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am here to support you in your journey toward better mental and emotional well-being. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about your experiences, explore your thoughts and feelings, and develop the skills and strategies you need to cope with challenges
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Welcome! Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your current challenges, your goals, and any concerns you may have. During this session, I will ask questions about your background, mental health history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This helps me understand your unique needs so we can create a plan together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths include my ability to listen deeply and empathetically, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are seeking support with mental health and emotional well-being, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or challenges related to past trauma. I work with clients who are motivated to explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into patterns that may be affecting their lives, and develop practical strategies to cope with challenges.
